Update #2 Ladies
Hi ladies,
so about my infection, I finally seen my PS today after having IV therapy and started on antibiotics...didn't really get an answer.. He seemed hesitant to say its all ok which is what I want! He just said I dont think there is anything to worry about we will have a weekly follow up to watch it as I take antibiotics...then he told me they got the swabs back and all is normal??!??!!?!?! Then why did the hospital believe I have an infection So do I or don't I...that is the question...now I guess do I play the waiting game for the wounds to close on thier own?! I am so lost. Then I asked the nurse about the stitches coming out and said no they shouldnt...BUT I CAN SEE THEM LADY! Urggg I am so stressed and sad. I just want to be told all is getting better you know? I don't know what to do :( any advice? Do i just leave them to heal on thier own? I suggested snipping them and he said he could restitch it....UMM isn't that the problem?! Just wanna cry.
On a lighter note...they shaved my pits for me I have been to afraid or bacteria hehehe this made me giggle.

Oh also I asked about how I could tell if it spread to the implant and he said it would become quite swollen and red...but I have seen a few cases on here girls had no idea.

This part of your post confuses me Elizabeth, so I can't imagine how you feel!
You said in an earlier post that the last time you saw your surgeon, he'd said all was fine - Sweetheart, for your surgeon to have felt the need to take swabs from your wound, he MUST have suspected a possible problem and you should have been told the reason further tests were being perfomed and should have had someone available to you should you have suffered a potential probem that they were infact aware of!!
Then I asked the nurse about the stitches coming out and said no they shouldnt...BUT I CAN SEE THEM LADY! Urggg I am so stressed and sad. I just want to be told all is getting better you know? Not all stitches will be need to be snipped hun - occasionally you get a stubborn stitch that comes to the surface and can be quite painful, in those cases your nurse will take a look and if she feels it needs snipping, then she'll do that for you.
I'm relieved to read that your clinic are now monitoring your progress, but if you're at all concerned Elizabeth, I really would not hesitate in contacting your surgeon at any time to get him to assess your wounds hunni. xxx

Re: Update #2 Ladies
Hi ladies, thank you all for your replies Soooo I don't really have an update yet I definatly don't want to jynx myself washing the incisions twice a day with anti bacterial and taking my antibiotics religiously. I have a follow up on tuesday the 13th. I will post as soon as I am home from work! They seem ok so far..no redness anymore!
I do have one question? Will the incisions not close until the stitches come out? Or do you think they can close over and still heal the stitches inside? Thanks lovely ladays! You keep me strong.
