Hi ladies

I am 3 weeks post op tomorrow (early still i know) but for the last couple of days I have been having a throbbing sensation in my left boob - feels like it is coming from behind the nipple (no snesation in either of my nipples yet so difficult to tell). It doesn't really hurt or anything, just feels like it is pulsing occasionally. Its also not happening constantly but comes and goes. I am not getting this in my right boob.

My period is due in a couple of days so I wondered whether it might just be normal hormonal stuff as my boobs always get tender when i'm due on, but can't tell as my boobs are still numb.

Did anyone else experience anything like this as starting to worry that my boob might be rejecting the implant. Everything else feels find and except for some pain around the bottom of my ribs, no other problems.

Thanks
Stilton xx

The throbbing is the nerves knitting back together babe, I'm 6 months post op and still have numbness to my left breast and I'm still experiencing different sensations - throbbing one day, pins and needle type pain the next, and like a pulsing pain the next, but I take this as a good sign that I'm feeling the nerves therefore there's a good chance that feeling will return.

Ouch for the pain on your ribs hun, I had that too and found it more uncomfortable than the boobie pain! xxx

Thanks hon, i figured i was probably worrying about nothing, but you never know, lol. I guess i convinced myself i would be the one person who would end up with complications!!

The rib pain is defintely worse than the boob pain - i didn't have much of that. Not sure why they are so sore to be honest - feels like they have been broken somehow. I guess it's just having to get used to additional weight in that area?

Hey stilton,

I had the same sensation. Still have occasionally. Just as Cookie said, it's just the nerves healing. Hopefully nothing else bad.

I have had really bad pains in my ribs, I have a lump on one of them and to be truthful I had wondered if he had broke a rib as I couldnt even stand to touch it.

Ouch Sally, that sounds even more painful than my ribs are. Still, at least my boobs have finally stopped feeling like they're going to fall off when i take my bra off now - thats some progress at least :)

hey stilton,

I had an operation on my head a few years ago to fit a metal rod for a hearing aid. the throbbing/stabbing pains lasted for about 6 months, they come and go for a few seconds a few times a day. you get used to it and you dont realise when its stopped because it goes on for a long period of time.
If it does hurt or annoy you, take some paracetemol to numb it.
