Swimming after BA?
I am 5 weeks post op today and me and my OH are going on a spa weekend this weekend and I suddenly just though whether I would be able to go swimming or not? How soon after BA did you go swimming? xx

Re: Swimming after BA?
The general advice is not to fully submerge your scars for 6 weeks - I should think you'd be fine by the weekend, but a little call to your PC just to ensure it's ok wouldn't go a miss I don't think, just to be on the safe side babe. xxx
Re: Swimming after BA?
I went swimming just under 6 weeks post op, and it was fine but felt strange and uncomfortable. I go swimming every week, and try to swim strenuously to keep fit, so it should be fine for you to go swimming gently on a spa weekend.
Just don't worry if your boobs feel odd when you are swimming. I was quite worried the first time I went, and rang my ps. The nurse said I couldn't do the implants any harm with swmming and it would get easier, which it has!
Enjoy your weekend.

Re: Swimming after BA?
I was told it would be fine so long as scars scabbed over. I am off on holiday next week and still praying that one of mine scabs up a bit more!
I think they just say be careful as if open wounds still you could get them infected particularly as many people use these places so you are more likely to infect them in the dirty water.

Mmm thanks ladies I will give my PS a call. I am not planning on doing any actual swimming, just sitting in the jacuzzi! lol! I will double check anyway! You never really see people gettng out of the pool to go the toilet so I dont wanna chance someone basically peeing on my boobies!! xxx

Re: Swimming after BA?
Hi hun,
I had to wait until my 6 week check up and I'd been given the all clear by the nurse.
