The Pill? Empty The Pill?

Post by _Carrie_ 24th February 2009, 1:54 pm

I'm thinking of going on the Pill soon - how soon can you take it after a ba? I remember girls saying they had to stop it a while before their op, but never heard when you can start it up again. I haven't taken it in a couple of years now...

Also, does anyone know if the Pill affects your boobs in any way? I always hoped it would when I was flat, and now I'd rather it didn't as they're quite big enough thank you!!

The Pill? Empty Re: The Pill?

Hey hun,

I stopped my pill 2 weeks before my BA, and started it again on the first day of my next period, which was 3 weeks post-op.

I've been on various pills & none ever affected my boobs! Everyone is different though!

I think the reason you're asked to stop taking it before your op is because you're going to be a little immobile... and therefore have a slightly higher risk of DVT. I would imagine, as the other girls have said , that you'd be fine starting now, as you're fully mobile again.

Hi Hun, yes, it's fine to start taking your pill again now. The reason for being advised not to take it, is because of the risk of DVT while under the anaesthetic, like Angel said.
