Left breat pain & swelling for 4 months now! Empty Left breat pain & swelling for 4 months now!

Hi Ladies,

So I posted here a while ago about a pain in my left breast, it started after my first weight training session, thought I had pulled a muscle so rested.

Pain persisted with swelling, but felt like a bubble right above my nipple went to surgeon who said it was my breast tissue, nothing to do with the implant or muscle (I had partial unders)

Anyway went light at the gym, no upper body and limited cardio literally nothing that engaged my chest, pain and swelling continued, went to GP who referred me to hospital for a suspected cyst. had to wait weeks and then finally at the hospital consultant said there is no lump we won't perform an ultrasound, said what I could feel was the edge of the implant and that I should go back to surgeon.

Went back to surgeon who again said no rupture, no CC as breast is soft and that perhaps it is normal to get pain sometimes as a woman in the breast, I said coincidence it's after exercise. he suggested a private ultrasound but merely for peace of mind.

Went to physio who said I had badly torn ligaments on my 3rd rib at the back, 6 weeks later and pain persisting in my boob physio said back is getting better and it shouldn't cause pain at the front and that he can't help coz of where it is.

Nothing i'm back to bloody square one, GP doesn't know, hospital won't see me, physio can't help and surgeon says no problems! I'm in sooo much pain with the smallest amount of exercise (and without), feels like my sterum hurts and all across the middle of my boob.

am at a loss of what to do sad smile do I walk into a&e and make them scan me, do I see another surgeon at the same group, do I pay for a private ultrasound in the hope it will show something sad smile sad smile

any help would be appreciated Heart

Oh no you poor thing!!  Its frustrating they are all fobbing you off.  If I wee you I'd persist for an ultrasound through the NHS - if its making you unhappy and worried then they should really oblige.

Otherwise if no joy there I would pay for a private ultrasound.  It sounds like the only way you are going to get any answers.

Sorry you are having this annoying problem! xx

I have 'unknown' pain in mine too, so feel for you. I got my ultrasound by having a very frank conversation with my GP. Said I've been having pain in my left breast, my surgeon has recommended I come to her for a referral to the breast clinic and an ultrasound. Was seen within 2weeks. I would persist with the breast clinic route, ANY abnormality in a breast should be investigated thoroughly, regardless of lumps, discharge, any of the 'usual' suspects.

If its still doesn't show anything, you may have to go the route of a private MRI. Mine cost me about £800. But at this age of implant, you should be looking to get one done anyway as a routine check for silent ruptures etc. Keep hounding them.

Thanks both, so not sure if you've seen my latest posts but no further forward. 7 months now and still pain and a weird bubble in the implant around the edge of my nipple. pain has been persistent now. had an ultrasound and didn't show anything. i'm heading back to THG Monday and am seeing a different surgeon as mine has left THG. got a timeline of events but not being fobbed off again! I really just want some answers :( xx
