I have been looking into different bras recommended for after surgery- why do some surgeons tell you to get a support bra with compression? As the best one is apparently the Macom but this doesn't offer compression.

I used macoms, thought  they were compression bras. I also had compression bras by veronique but the macom was by far the most comfy, i still wear mine at night and when im just loafing around the house Smike

All of the Macom garments are compression garments. This page here should shed more light.

As to why some say compression/high impact and some say let them roam free...well, that's just down to the surgeon and their patient. Some prefer you trussed up, some prefer to let gravity do the work.

I must have confused myself yep the Macom are compression. My surgeon said sports bras from M&S so I assume he wants me to be properly strapped in. I will get 1 Macom and 2 M&S ones.
