Hi all!

Me again lol ok i know i
go on about this allll the time but i dont know if its because im
getting stressed with work etc lately its making me feel even more
nervous about my op!

One day il be uncontrollably excited and
cant wait for my op and new boobies! the next im so nervous i want to
be sick! lol maybes a exaggeration but its the GA i think il cope ok
with the pain and just deal with it but the thought of going under
feeling out of control or being aware whats happening during the op
or even dying!

I know im being so extreme i even did a online
risk assessment
Did anyone else feel like this? Icon_redface
(im stupid i know!)

Did anyone else feel like this? what did
you do to calm yourself down? did you enjoy the GA or hate it and
what did it feel like?

Sorry for the 101 questions!Hysterical

I'm quite looking forward to it actually, most people say it was the best sleep they ever had! I've had a GA before when I was younger so might be why I'm not so nervous this time around? I've never heard of anyone dying from it though - personally

I'm sure you'll be fine on the day hun... think boobie thoughts Hug

LOL @ the poem layout... quite cool really!

I can completely feel where you're coming from though, I'm hoping that your feelings are completely normal.. as I feel exactly the same. I am really beginning to wonder if I'm mad to be having my BA... I'm terrified I'll end up too big and look just plain ridiculous... I'm worried about the GA, and not waking up  ... I'm worried about waking up and then puking up!!! Hysterical So be assured that you're not the only one obssessing about it all.

I think everyones nervous about the GA hun i know i was, specially as i spotted a story in a mag about someone who was aware of everything going on while under but couldnt say (extremely extremely rare). I just didnt get nervous until the night before my op, my bf said if Jordan can do it so many times then so can you lol! But it was fine really, it was a bit weird.. the cannular hurt then i just felt drowsy and a cold feeling in my throat and i was sleeping. Wouldnt call it the best sleep i ever had tho at all, wasnt in my nice bed for a start! :) You'll be fine on the day hun, you'll be back on here in no time saying how easy it was :) xx

I never got nervous hun except when i actually got to the theatre prep room and they were sticking the heart moniter things and IVs were everywhere, i could hear the guys having a natter next door preparing for me. Otherwise i was excited.
Hun really sick, old people with heart conditions get GA, they are the risky people not you, a healthy young woman! Dont worry!! Hysterical I think the rate is about 5million to 1 !

Im glad its not just me it does calm you down! and i know its so silly apparently i heard your at more risk in the car going to the hospital than dying under GA but it still doesnt calm you.

Angelpie your worries are exactly the same as me, im also petrified of pukin after the GA!

My mums done it though and she was fine and my 76 year old grandma had a major op last year after suffering a stroke due to a blocked artery so theres not much history of ilness after having a GA.

Thanks tho ladies it always helps to hear other peoples stories x x x

Aw i know nads somtimes i laugh at myself for being so silly lol! my best mate found it hilarious when she asked if i was nervous and i said only about the GA.

isnt it strange how different you feel when you choose to put yourself through it? i mean we will probably all have to have one at some point in our lives anyway! x x x

I was scared of being sick too, my anaethetist told me he was going to use 3 different types of anti-sickness drugs, and also told me GA is less likely to make people sick now as its more advanced, my mum had GA back in the 60s and was fine lol x

Hi Hun

I was very nervous about the op, but not about the GA. I don't actually like having GAs at all. They make me very disorientated after. I was only nervous about things going wrong with my boobies.

GAs are so much safer these days, and old sick people can have them with no problems.

Good Luck, hunni, you'll be fine.

I'm also really nervous about the GA!! Just that moment where you know it's working and it's too late to do anything about it, and like someone else said, that feeling of being out of control. Funnily enough that's the only thing really making me nervous about my ba - not bothered about the pain or recovery, just being put to sleep! But I've survived it once before and am determined to again!

It's normal to be nervous hun x

I'm the same, I am only nervous about things going wrong with the op or afterwards, getting infected, boobs being wrong shape, one lower than the othe etc etc! Not about GA but I guess I have had it twice and nothing happened both times, you just pass out within a second and wake up thinking that only a couple of minutes have passed... never had any sickness and always recovered well within a few hours, but I guess everyone has different reactions... It can be a daunting though if you've never done it cakey, but I'd say don't worry, it's pretty safe!!!

I was a bit scared of the GA, as I'd never had one before... but honestly, they put the stuff in my arm, I got a funny taste in my throat, and literally that was it, a split second later I was waking up & it was over. I just felt sleepy after, and the next day I was dizzy & sick, but nothing a lie down & a bit of tlc couldn't fix! Xx
