Wondering about discomfort/pain Empty Wondering about discomfort/pain

Post by KatyElf 15th August 2013, 6:37 pm

Hi ladies I hope you can help me!

I'm Pre BA and had my consultation a few days ago. Basically I'm wondering what the post op discomfort/pain is like. For those ladies that have had babies and also breastfed, is it anything like the first few days engorgement etc? Obviously not the incision site but the boobs themselves.
Also when you talk of morning boob, is that feeling like when you've missed a feed for baby?

Just trying to get some benchmark for what I can expect. Any advice would be great!

Thank you ladies xx  thank you

It's not painfull, more uncomfortable! And yes just like your milk coming in. And a tight heavy feeling in your chest. Honestly it is nowhere near as bad as you expect it to be xx

I agree with Lisa it's not painful just uncomfortable, feeling tight and heavy. I thought I was goin to be in pain after and was really surprised that I was just a little uncomfortable. X

Ive not really had morning boob until this morning but I think it's because in my sleep I had wriggled down to being pretty much on my back, so when I sat up they just felt super heavy and throbbed a tiny bit. X

Hiya, I've not had "morning boob", but with regards to the pain/discomfort after my BA, I would say it wasn't as sore as missing a feed for baby.  Yes it is uncomfortable but only sore if you try to do too much.

I did get morning boob, it is just like when your baby cries and your boobs say, feed now! It doesn't last very long maybe a minute or 2. X

Again it's discomfort more than pain. That heavy tight feeling.
Morning boob is like when your milk is in and leaking and fully engorged , but it's only when you get up in the morning from a laying to upright position and last. A few seconds. X

It's nothing you won't be able to handle and I'd go through it all again :-) x

Definitely that engorged feeling when your milk comes in hun... Imagine not being able to feed your baby and your breasts go rock hard and feel swollen and throbbing, but its not a 'painful throb' its just uncomfortable. You feel like your boobs are under your armpits they're so swollen... Its exactly the same as that.

You will however have to deal with rib pain also. This feels like someone's kicked you in the ribs and you feel really sore.

Again, nothing you won't be able to cope with but often rib pain is harder to deal with than your boobs lol.

I really wouldn't worry hun... Its not half as bad as you might think. Xx
