BP Still Stressing Me Out
Maybe I'm over reacting but I've been doing my blood pressure regularly since my last consultation and below are the figures:
10th May - 115/61
16th May - 102/59
20th May - 113/61
23rd May -107/55
24th May - 102/55
30th May - 95/51
So today's reading is really concerning me as I know it's going to drop lower under the GA. I feel fine apart from being dizzy which I get quite a lot of the time

Re: BP Still Stressing Me Out
I'm no expert but that does seem quite low, mine is usually around 90/70. Not sure if that's good or bad lol my GP never seems to worry. Do you have a medical condition that causes it to be low?

No not that I'm aware of, it's always been low but I've never really took as much notice as now to it. I get dizzy alot but just put that down to the blood pressure x

Re: BP Still Stressing Me Out
im sure you'll be fine babe. I have naturally low pressure and had to be monitored over a 3 month period. Its very low but its normal for me and if course surgery was OK'd.
If you feel it may be a problem then go and see your GP hun and get them to take a look for you. Your BA is a long way off yet so if there is a problem you have plenty of time to get it monitored and sorted lovely.
The worst thing you can do is ignore it if you're so concerned. Go see your GP now babe whilst you still have plenty of time. Xx

You should be ok, just keep an eye on it and don't worry. If it gets any lower, or shoots up then you should go see your GP

Re: BP Still Stressing Me Out
Im going to book in the docs after holiday as its OH's birthday today and were going out and i have to work in Leicester tomorrow so wont be back until late and then were away on Sunday. Is yours lower than mine cookie? Just thinking if your is lower than mine and you were told you were ok it should be fine, I called the nurse at THG and she said she had checked my blood pressure results with the surgeon and he had passed my file ready for surgery so he was happy with it. I'm just a hypochondriac I think x

Re: BP Still Stressing Me Out
Its been lower yes. But like I said lovely, I had my blood pressure monitored and was told I was fine. I get didymium spells occasionally, but that's about it.
I would stress though that you see your GP to ensure the low pressure is fine for 'you' though. Xx

Re: BP Still Stressing Me Out
If you're worried about what will happen to your blood pressure during the op itself, you really don't need to. Remember the anaesthetist will be 100% focused on you, and keeping you stable during the operation, they are very good at their jobs, and if your blood pressure drops more they know exactly what to do to correct it, that's what they're there for. It'll be ok. My blood pressure is low too and I've always been told its much healthier than if it was high. x

Re: BP Still Stressing Me Out
Low blood pressure can be an indicator of good health, but if you have it, it shouldn't be ignored and should always be checked out by your GP.
Like I said in my earlier post. I had mine checked and its normal for 'me' but if blood pressure is too low it can restrict the blood that gets pumped to the brain.
So if you are concerned babe, 'you' should check that its normal for 'you' hun. Xx

Re: BP Still Stressing Me Out
So the GP called me today and said my blood pressure is very good and I'm vet lucky to have it that low, it won't be a problem in surgery as its not "too low".
She did say she didnt think the low blood pressure was causing the dizziness so I need to have some bloods done when I'm bank from hols to check my blood sugar, thyroid and check for anaemia.
Thanks for your help girls x
