I have just been for my pre op and the nurse told me to use arnica tablets? Are these any good? Has anyone used them? How do I use them?

Hi Jade, I used them and I didnt have any bruising and swelling wasn't too bad. Not sure if it was down to them though or not. They are only a few quid in boots and if you have been advised to use them then you should do x

I used them too, Jade- I didn't take them regularly as kept forgetting, but I haven't had any bruising, and my swelling went down in 2 weeks...

I think they don't like you to be taking anything at all for 2 weeks prior to the operation, so do check with your nurse/ps if you can- I started taking them a few days post op.

Ooooh that's so great to hear that this is being recommended. Arnica is fantastic for bruising, trauma, swelling, shock.. it's a homeopathic remedy which is thought to prompt self-healing.

Silverpanther - depending on the dose, there are times that just one dose does the trick, so you probably did yourself a favour not taking them like conventional medicine! Fab:)
