Taking care of your boobs long term
Hi ladies
Could I ask what you do to keep your boobs in good condition long term? Do you continue to wear sports bras and wear wires just when needed? Do you wear sports bra at night?
I don't think I looked after mine well after my first BA. Once I was in wires (6 weeks post op) I only wore sports bra for running, gym & snowboarding). I just stayed in wires. Also never wore a bra at night.
I really want to take care of these ones :) x

Re: Taking care of your boobs long term
I'm probably a little over protective of mine. But unless I'm wearing wires to go out or want to look nice with something I'm wearing I'm in my sports bra all the time. Day and night.
I also use a contraption called a KUSH, which is specially designed to help prevent your boobs sagging as you sleep on your side and your boobs fall. So that goes in the sports bra too (dear doG my hubby must love me! Hahah)
I know I'm over cautious but from speaking to surgeons and from doing my own research, the way to maintain your boobs is to maintain your weight and also give them plenty of support. Xx

I must admit I don't do anything. I wear wires all the time and sleep with no bra at all. Although I did wear a supportive bra to bed until I was 7 months post op.
Re: Taking care of your boobs long term
Thanks for this Cookie - it's very helpful. I will definitely make more use of my sports bras if I don't really need to wear wires.
I googled the KUSH - a very interesting concept! Think I may also give that a go too! If just to see I hubby's face when I jump into bed with it!

I still wear my sports bra every night, but my surgeon said I should just treat them like natural boobs, no special extra care neccessary from my 6 week check onwards, but I just wear it anyway to be on the safe side! x

I wear my sports bra to bed too. I did after my 1st BA, right until up they were 4 years old! Then I had them replaced. Surgeon recommended this too, it doesn't make sense to spend £4k and not look after them properly to me x

Re: Taking care of your boobs long term
After my 1st ba and I got the all clear for wirers I used to wear wires some of the time most of the time was in my sports bra but stopped wearing it at night a few months later and always wore a sports bra for gym. I'd
Lok after them the same as if these were natural. I'm wearing my sports bra 99%of the time, wires for when I venture out but that's about it. I'm bit more paranoid about these ones because of the size and weight of them!! X
