Over or Under and healing times
So I understand that when having a BA the implants can be placed over and under the muscle and I also understand that this is mainly dependant on my own anatomy and the amount of breast tissue that I already have. But I was wondering if I am given the choice, if I am eligible for both which is the best option?
I would be grateful to hear of any of your experiences or opinions pro/con either procedure.
Also any experiences or advice on healing times, going back to work, starting to exercise etc would be awesome.
Thanks Mrs S

Re: Over or Under and healing times
Surgeon if at all possible would always opt for going over the muscle if its an option for you. Going over the muscle is a less invasive surgery than going partially under so would be the best outcome for you.
If a surgeon suggests that you can have either but insists you choose... DO-NOT accept this. You're seeing an expert for their opinion. Don't allow them to have you decide which surgery is best for you. They're the expert. They should decide.
Healing time is very dependent on yourself hun and none of us could say for definite how the surgery will effect you. It's best to take your healing a day at a time. Overs are generally given about a weeks healing before going back to work, partials generally a week to two weeks, but this can vary for both lovely. Xx

As cookie says the surgeon WILL ALWAYS choose and feel what's best for you. Have a couple of consultations to compare x

Re: Over or Under and healing times
Thank you for your replies ladies much appreciated. :flowers: I have a consultation with a PCC at transform tomorrow and hopefully a surgeon fairly soon.
I am going to have a few different consultations with different companies and surgeons to compare. My friend advised me to do that as well.
Thanks again.
Xxx

No worries, the only thing is a Pcc is only a sales/receptionist woman, she can't give you any medical or surgical advise Hun only a surgeon can when hes seen you xxx

Re: Over or Under and healing times
As mrsball has already said lovely, looks like your first appointment is just with a patient care co-ordinator. They'll go through the prodedure you want and pricing. They'll tell you they'll pick the surgeon right for you... Most likely, they're choosing their favourite surgeon or the surgeon with a next available slot to fill the book, nothing about you at all.
If you want the best surgeon for YOU then the best way of doing this is to do the ground work yourself. Call the clinic and request the list of surgeons working in your area. Check each surgeons qualifications on the GMC register ensuring they're at least on a specialist register for plastic surgery. BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeons tend not to work for the larger commercial clinics so if it a BAAPS/BAPRAS member you're wanting in particular then you'd need to look elsewhere hun.
After checking qualifications google names and look for previous patient comments. You tend to get a feel for the surgeons you'd like a consultation with from doing things this way. Always have more than one consultation also.
I also noticed you 'kissing your guns' in your avi lol. Just to add to your comment about unders or overs - if you're very muscular do be sure to discuss this with your surgeon. Being muscular can affect the look of your boobs if you have to partially under the muscle causing something called 'muscle distortion' so its important you go through this if partials are preferred. Xxx

Re: Over or Under and healing times
Excellent advice. Thank you so much I will be sure to tell them that I work out a lot.
Also I will carry on researching some more of the surgeons at the clinics close to me. I have already been doing a bit on the recommendation of a friend as her surgeon is with the company I am going to see tomorrow.
Thanks again xx
