Spire and BMI
Thinking of booking consultations at my local Spire and BMI hospitals. Just wondered if anybody could give me information on the aftercare policy and also the cost of the consultations? Thanks :)x

Re: Spire and BMI
I paid £120 for a consultation with my surgeon and had my surgery through Spire and she also worked for BMI. I went to see her in her own practice though so I dont know whether the fee is more or less if you book directly with Spire/BMI. When I had my consult I was told the aftercare for both is very similar. Its basically a year post op and then whatever guarantee you have on your implants. Its not as long as the big clinics but some of the surgeons are better qualified and this is what swung it for me. I could have had a longer aftercare policy with MYA but I didnt rate the surgeon. I am happy with my decision so far and I am confident that if I have any problems in the first year they will be sorted quickly and easily as my surgeon has a good reputation of ensuring a perfect result and resolving any problems quickly without fuss or cost. Obviously after the first year I will be liable for the cost of any complications but hopefully I will be ok. Mrs Kat assurred me that her surgical technique along with the type of implants she used in me will give me a very low risk of complications and she will follow me up just before the year is out to make sure everything is still perfect so if anything needs sorting it will be done in time.

Re: Spire and BMI
If you want a BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeon lovely but a longer after care policy then you want to consider MyBreast, Spire and BMI are excellent clinics but there after care is rather limited.
The last time I looked MyBreast were offering lifetime cover, but I'd expect that to be in truth around 10 years babe, which is still very good consider ending the reputable surgeons they use. Xx

thanks for both your replies, I think i'll have a look into MyBreast then, how comes the big ones transform, thg etc don't use BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeons?

Re: Spire and BMI
They're very much against the commercialism of such a serious practise babe and believe strongly that the industry should be more carefully monitored as a whole in the same way that BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeons are monitored and continuously assessed. Xx

Re: Spire and BMI
You can see HERE the lengths that surgeons go to to become a member of BAAPS/BAPRAS and how stringent they are hun.
The majority of surgeons working in the more commercial clinics won't have gone to these lengths in this field lovelyl. That's not to say they'll all bad. There are some very good surgeons who aren't members and are very reputable but you would have to be very careful in who you chose. Xx
