Stressing :( anyone had low iron before BA?

As the title says.. my 2nd BA is on the 25th and just found out I have low iron/ferritin :( nurse says this could be a problem, she faxed my results up to the anaesthesist today to see if he will give me the go ahead or say to postpone :( anyone had low iron before BA? I'll be so gutted, I've got everything sorted x

I didn't have problems with iron levels babe, but I ddid have problems with my pottasium levels and Transform had refused to operate until I got the results they needed back to them so I do know a little of how you're feeling hun.

Don't feel too deflated just yet though hun, call your GP and explain the situation and see if they can get you in to be seem as soon as. The quicker it's sorted babe, the quicker you can get your op, maybe even on time - I did!

Your GP can get results back far quicker than your clinic can and then have them faxed to your clinic to give you the all clear.

So good luck babe and I hope you get this sorted - Remember primarily though that as important as your BA is to you, your health must always come first. xx

Thank you cookie :) I've seen my GP, had my results and been put on iron tablets 3 a day. GP faxed my results to the nurse in the clinic and she faxed them up to the anaesthesist today to see what he thinks.

You're right about my health coming first, I've just been psyching myself up for this now! :) Fingers crossed though!x
