Stopping stretch marks !
Hey ladies !
It's been 3 months ish now and all of a sudden I'm getting stretch marks ! Is there any way to stop/minimise them ? Oils don't seem to have worked as I oiled loads and still got them ? Xxx

Re: Stopping stretch marks !
Nothing will stop them but creams like palmers and oil like bio oil will help reduce them to the silver lines
Re: Stopping stretch marks !
Yes, I believe Bio Oil is great for stretch marks x

Re: Stopping stretch marks !
It's my understanding that skin's ability to stretch is down to genetics. But having said that I don't see the harm in slapping on the cocao butter. I used Palmers and Bodyshop butter in abundance when pregnant. I didn't get any stretch marks on my belly. However I did get some on the lower pole of by breasts at exactly the same time they dropped, half way through my first pregnancy. They looked quite shocking at first, but now they're almost not noticeable, you really have to look for them, they're very pale silver lines, and don't bother me at all anymore. I carried on applying cocao butter after the stretch marks appeared xxx

I dont think you can stop them but i think you can do stuff to prevent many appearing and if you do get them then they would not be very noticeable, lots of cocoa butter or bio oil usually does the trick.

As a matter of interest, has anyone ever heard of or used Scarban? its some sort of silicone patch which helps the healing of your scar...wanted feedback before I go out and purchase it!

Can't speak from experience yet, but asked ps this at consult, he said silicone patches are excellent. We didn't discuss brands though.

LolaDV - Scarguard MD is meant to be awesome!!
Shelsuit - I dunno, I have them from pregnancy on my boobies and hate it... but to be honest, I think that most natural ones are covered in them anyway, so no one really notices the marks (except the owners-lol)!
