Re: Smooth Vs. Textured?
Nearly all BA's in the UK are with textured implants, this is because it reduces the chances of getting capsular contracture afterwards (where your implants go hard).
So if you are in the Uk you don't normally get a choice, they will be textured.

Re: Smooth Vs. Textured?
Awww I see, so the reason why I dont here that been mentioned is because the textures ones are like the norm here. Are smooth ones also called gummy bears or are they the really old style silicon?
Just got a bit confused after seeing a video!

Re: Smooth Vs. Textured?
No gummy bear isn't to do with the surface of the implant, gummy bear refers to the gel filling, it's firm-ish silicone gel that stays together if your implant was cut in half, like a gummy bear sweetie. This is what modern silicone implants are like, whereas in the olden days the gel in implants was runny, so if your implant ruptured you'd be in big trouble as the silicone could spread around your body.
I'd say most implants available here are similar, like they'll have a textured surface, and a firmer gel filling (I don't think they make the runny ones anymore). Cos in europe these are generally considered the best options. In america they have more choices to make, like smooth or textured, saline or silicone, that's why alot of websites are confusing, cos it's talking about things we don't really need to think about over here.
The main decision you'll make about your implants will be the size really. xx
