Re: gummy bear implants
Gummy bear is a term used mainly by the Americans to describe silicone implants. Just means that if cut in half, the silicone stays intact and doesn't leak.
Re: gummy bear implants
I'm having memory gel (gummies) in 3weeks... And yes I'm American lol
Below are the sites used by my dr... The gel is different from the silicone we used to have, which was banned for a long time, and has been approved for over age 22. I went in asking for saline but after a lot of research, weighing pros and cons, and comparing the feel of them, have chosen the Gel :)

Re: gummy bear implants
Knxgrl: Do you know why they've made it 22 years and over?? because i'm only 17 and am able to get them.. But i live in New Zealand so its obviously different here but i dont understand whats the big deal about it.....
The usual silicon implants once cut open leak some substance whereas these gummy implants are so strong nothing will leak out even when cut and squeezed, the best thing about them is that they feel very natural and have a long life guarantee :)
there are videos on youtube of them demonstrating the implants being cut...sorry not sure what the link is but its not hard to find

Re: gummy bear implants
In the UK they refer to Gummies as Cohesive Gel....i.e. it kind of sticks together and resembles the inside of a jelly baby.
They are firmer to touch than liquid silicone but you can get soft touch cohesive gel which I believe is just a bit more runny. That is what I now have. Too early to say how soft touch they actually are though!

Re: gummy bear implants
Tsmith: I'm not certain what the legal reason is for age 22, but here someone is considered a minor or child until age 18. Driving rules are different, drinking is illegal until age 21, not legal decisions can be made until you're 18, etc. The FDA (federal drug administration) sets the standards - age 22 was a recommendation not a law, but the theory is that it's still so new and hasn't been studied here long enough... And in our society up until about 21 you're pretty coddled to. It's a good thing in some ways lol! I did some crazy things when I was young but it's more easily forgiven when you can say, yeah but i was only 20 when I did that.... Etc etc

Re: gummy bear implants
Knxgrl these are what I'm having as well and after looking and several including the one you mentioned breast 411 as well is a good one sulcone look more natural not just there if you know what I mean. I think the FDA was the regulator on the age requirement but not for sure the exact reason but can google and find out I'm sure;)

Re: gummy bear implants
Are you doing the Mentor Memory Gel? I started out looking at saline but the silicone far outweighs the saline benefits but was $1000 more! I know itll be worth it :)
