Armpit incision
HellI girls, I couldn't find a topic of this particular kind. Has anyone had their incision in their armpit. If so what was your experience. Is it more difficult to heal?? Does it effect the type or size of implant you can get?? It's it more tricky fir the surgeon?? Does it take longer to heal?? Is the scar more noticeable than in the fold of the breast?? Please somebody help!! Xxxx

Re: Armpit incision
I didn't get an incision in the armpit but what I've heard is that, most ppl that get it done there will have saline or a small gel implant because they can't fit a large gel implant through the armpit. So it does effect the type and size of implant.
As for the healing process I'm not sure, but they say the thinner the skin the easier the scar will be. So they areola incision is best because it's the thinnest.
I don't think it's more noticeable than in the fold, it just depends on your preference.
good luck

Re: Armpit incision
Thank you very much. Hearing this I'd opt for incision in the fold as opposed to the armpit as I hope to get larger implants. The most popular is in the fold so if it works out well for most people it's the safest bet I think. Enjoy your very new boobies hun. Hope you heal well xxx

Re: Armpit incision
Hi
I had an armpit incision (albeit 13 years ago) and I had a reop after 3 years (also via the armpit). My memory is a little blurred and obviously I won't know until May (when I have it done again but this time under the breast incision) what the difference is but you can't notice my scar at all even with my arm raised. It was a bit weird for the first 2 weeks as it felt tight and I couldn't stretch my arm out straight (I thought they had stitched a vein lol) but some piles cream (yes really) on it sorted it out.
Hope this is of some use xxx

Re: Armpit incision
This is really helpful thanks yetti. I was thinking bet getting my incision in my armpit due to the fact that if I ever want bigger implants and u had the scars in the fold wouldn't the scar become onto my boob if I had another op for bigger implants. Hmmm. I'll see what my surgeon suggests as I do want large implants so maybe in the fold would be best. Xxxx

Re: Armpit incision
I didn't have large implants, I went from a AA cup to a C cup as I'm petite. The looked wonderful but sadley I have Capsular Contracture now so having them redone in May. My surgeon now doesn't do under the arm :-(

Aww so sorry to hear about your complication as you were initially so pleased. I hope all goes really well with your surgery (and your new incision placement) xxx
