Highgate Nurses
I'm getting my BA done in Highgate. Just read Angle Emma's diary and she mentioned that she got told the staff there aren't the friendliest. First I've heard of it!!! What can I expect? Can anyone tell me?

I had my BA there on the 21st. I found them all to be really lovely and helpful. x

I had my op there (admittedly, I've just realised that it was nearly two years ago!) and everyone was lovely. :flowers:

NO SPOONING?!?!?
Okay, okay. I can deal with that.
But they do send in a hot hunky man to give a pre-op relaxation massage, right?

LOL @ Abbie!!
Highmaintainance - don't stress! I found the sister I had at first a little offish but she soon warmed up once my surgeon had come in and everything was in motion. When she walked me down to theatre she was very nice and settled my nerves perfectly. The nurses I had afterwards were very professional and did their job perfectly, just that I wasn't feeling the love
Maybe I just expected to be treated differently to the NHS considering how much I paid....or maybe I just have different expectations of what nurses should be like! I am sure you will be looked after perfectly and all the staff there (reception, housekeeping etc) are super lovely :D

The first nurse I had.. My god how miserable & moany can you be?
Moaning at me about the fact shes busy & everything is going wrong today, talking about bad omens etc. I felt like telling her to shut up, I dont want to listen to your drama..

Re: Highgate Nurses
Hi, don't know if you've had your op yet but I had mine yesterday at Highgate and have to say the level of care from the nurses wasn't really up to the standards I was expecting. They were nice enough, but did nothing over and above which is what you need after a major op. I was left to do things myself most of the time and I'm not sure how well-informed the nurses were. Was left disappointed. Sorry!

Re: Highgate Nurses
Hi there, i have to say i had a fab experiance there. Bothe myself and O/H could not have ask for more. . . . .i had my BA done the weekend the snow hit 18th december and i didn't get there until 7pm was meant to be there at 6pm (i'd requested a late check in due to the amount of travel we had to do) but spent 5 hours on the M25 (carpark) however because of the weather and op running late i didnt get in until 11pm, the nurses looked after o/h like he was a king, even offered him a bed for the night, (although not the norm but because of the driving condition etc) after the op i was fed and watered, the night nurse kept popping her head in every so often and 9 out of 10 times had a cupper in hand for me (i found it hard to sleep so was awake for most of the night) i also had drains in situ so the nurses kept checking i was comfy helpping me to the loo (lots to hold, bottles from the drains/ plus the IV i had running/ plus the feeling if i moved to much my implants might fall out lol) what i'm trying to say is they really were fab,
A+ to the highgate staff!!
