Re: getting measured
Hellooooo
I'm 6 weeks post op today too! How bout that!
I have read opinions on here that m&s aren't so good and la sensa measure bras come up small
The majority view seems to be that the 'gold standard' are bravissimo. I'm a bit rubbish with technical stuff so can't post a link but if you look at recent threads on this subject Abbie has posted a great link to measuring.
I'm being a bit sad and sensible and waiting til 3 months post op before getting measured as I don't want to splash out now and then change sizes later on. God I'm so dull! lol

This is the link Abbie posted which explains the right way to measure. It is amazing how different this made me. I have alweays worn a 34 back but according to this should've been in a 28 back and this will make me a DD/E. Though I refuse to believe that until Im measured it sounds too huge. (not that they look that big I hasten to add!)
Pre BA I wore a 34(??) aa, near enough no breast tissue.
Yeah sports bras are a bit depressing and frumpy -but I do find the support a comfort, dont think Im brave enough to wear a normal bra yet Im so overprotective of my boobs and feel like they need holding tight in place with a shock absorber. Dont know what Im scared of though, Im pretty sure they're not about to fall off or instantly drop to my belly button.
Also glad its cold and I can cover up my flattering underwear with big cosy jumpers. If I had to live in a sports bra in the summer I think I would be in hiding.
Good luck when you get measured, let us know what size you end up!! Are you going today?

Re: getting measured
Hey Both,
I was measured in la sensa about a month ago (im pre BA) and according to them im a .....wait for it...... 36dd!!! this i was shocked at and couldn't believe. I've since been to Debenhams and M&S and they both measured me as a 34b..... i knew i didn't have no boobs so i think la sensa's DD must be a B cup
hope this helps xx

It's the right time when your surgeon says it's OK to start wearing normal bras babe - I was 12 weeks post-op before I got the all clear, but generally most ladies are in normal bras around the 4/6 week mark.
Also where is a good place to go?.. was thinking m and s or la senza?.
The best place is a specialist lingerie shop hun, such as Bravissimo or another shop that soley specialises in lingerie.
The next best would be your department stores hunni such as Debenhams. xx
Re: getting measured
Hay everyone,
thank you for the advice.. As i was in arush and needed a bra pronto due to work commitments, i rushed into la senza and have to say.... DO NOT GET MEASURED IN LA SENZA!!!! omg the woman just measured my backa nd was like, what bra size do u normally wear.. ??? um love i have just had a boob job! lol.. anyway i said the size of my s/ bra and she fetched me a 32 D and said if that comfortable then thats what u are!...
ok so after all that i have a cute set from la senza , and the only thing is it is so hard to get hold of that size anywhere..so am also wearing a 34c, as there are some well cute ones in primark!!!..
still wearing my s /bra when i can!.. and still sleeping in it!!!!
xx

Re: getting measured
I found the ladies in Debenhams to be super helpful. They really explain how you can see if a bra fits or not and how to make the most of your boobs in a bra (if that makes sense). In my opinion they have far more time for customers than either La Senza or M&S.

Quality!!!
so getting measured/fitted in la senza=asking you what size you are
Isn't that whole point of getting measured/fitted because you are not sure of your correct size and/or want your bra to fit properly,?? and surely wearing a M&S bra in one size, might not necessarily be the same size in la senza anyway.
"if that's comfortable that's what you are"
I find Size 22 nighties are 'comfy' on this theory thats what I am, better throw out my 8/10 wardrobe then eh?
mental note to not go there! they do do some lovely bra's though.

Re: getting measured
When the time comes round for me I am going to get measured at Debenhams, I have heard lots of great feedback about them there but I do like La Senza and to be fair when I went there to get measured after my boobs went back to normal after breastfeeding the girl was really helpful (it was dead in there at the time!!) she didn't measure my ribcage though and although she was right I was NOT a 34" I am also not 32" like she suggested!! (I am 28" but suspect 30" would fit best).
Just wish I had a Bravissimo near me

Re: getting measured
I can't honestly say I rate La Senza at all for either their bras or their customer care.
When you're fitted hun, the person fitting you should feel around the bra, ensuring it fits correctly around the band and that the straps are not too loose/tight and that the cups fit (they don't feel the cup bit LOL).
It's so important to have a bra that's fits correctly and offers support to avoid sagging hunni.
If you don't get a proper fitting at the next place you go to hun, I wouldn't buy the bra. xx
