Re: sleeping arghhhhhhh
I never slept sitting up, just propped myself up on three pillows so that my head and shoulders were elevated to reduce swelling. After 2 weeks I was allowed to sleep normally and to sleep on my side I hugged a pillow or my duvet.

Re: sleeping arghhhhhhh
It took me about a month to lay on my side but was still quite painful to turn from side to side. Its only just now that I have no pain at night and I'm nearly 7 weeks post op.
I found taking slow release painkillers really helped as they last around 6 hours. Just over the counter stuff. I took panadol osteo but I'm in Australia. I don't know if you can get it where you are.

Awww hunni, that swollen aching booobie thing is horrid isn't it
You really don't have to sleep sat up hunni, as misf1 says, sleeping slightly raised with just your head and shoulders raised is all that's required to help reduce the swelling, yeah, it's very uncomfortable for a while hunni, but it does get better over time.
Try using some ice packs or packets of frozen peas or rice on your boobs babe to help reduce the swelling, it really does help and will give you some relief, make sure you're also taking pain killers at bedtime to help aid your sleeping hunni. xxxx

Re: sleeping arghhhhhhh
Thank you girls, you have put my mind at ease again lol :)
Cookie: i had to sleep upright for my tummy too so i didn't collect pools of fluid on one side, my tummy is fine now but i think where im sort of used to sleeping this way its how my boobs feel comfortable, does that make sense? lol. Im just starting to feel a bit down now i think, it's been a very long 3 weeks mentaly, but i know in surgery terms its still very early days! xxx

Re: sleeping arghhhhhhh
I am still sleeping on my back with two pillows but I am so uncomfortable, I haven't had a proper nights sleep since before my op and I am really feeling the effects of lack of sleep, I am walking around like a zombie! I can't lie on any side at the moment as it is still too painful! It's driving me mad!
