when does the pain kick in
hi all so i had my ba done about 3.30 yesterday, I am in some pain and i am taking cocodmal but the pain is bareable enough, i am sure i have read that at about day 3 it kicks in, is it wishful thinking for me to hope it won't get worse then it is now?

Re: when does the pain kick in
I wouldn't say it was wishful thinking hun, some people just heal better than others and some have a higher pain tolerance and breeze through their BA whether they had unders or overs. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones! Even though you feel good hun, it's still best to just take things easy early post-op, so rest up hunni and hopefully you'll continue to breeze through your op! xxx

Hi I didnt have any pain...I had cocodamol the night of my surgery and then only had paracetamol for a few days as and when needed. I was expecting pain, and pleasantly surprised when there wasn't really any.

Mine were more uncomfortable than anything for the first couple of days. Once I was off the painkillers though I had alot of pain at night - especially when I had to get up.

Re: when does the pain kick in
Hi My Year, to be honest the feeling is more uncomfortable than painful. I have a very low pain threshold and I was ok. I think the pain of the drains is as painful as it gets, well it was for me :)

Re: when does the pain kick in
I think maybe for the first day post op we are still pain protected from the anaesthetic an ddrugs given at the hospital so after at home maybe around day 3 we start to feel it more.Probably the best thing to do would be to keep topped up with your pain killers to prevent the pain from kicking in.Obviously follow the instructions though so you are not taking too many.I found co-codamol really effective. It is stronger than paracetamol but not too strong.Don't take it with paracetomaol though x
