desperate for the gym
Its a month after my op and everythings fine. No dropping yet tho.
Im used to going to the gym and im not going because of my boobs. Im getting miserable cos im putting on weight. Ive cut down on food but its excersize that does it for me.
Do you think its safe to do a little bit in the gym , i remember my Plastic Surgeon sed something about how Bike would be the best as it affects only legs.
What do u think?
xx
ps. i want to get slim so my boobs look even bigger :P

Re: desperate for the gym
I would check with the clinic as to when they feel it would be ok to exercise. I had to wait 6 weeks before they gave me the go ahead. Although even if they do say you can't until 6 weeks, you can still go on long walks which will give you some exercise.
Re: desperate for the gym
I agree with misf1, you should follow the advice of your clinic, you have paid a lot of money for those babies and they need to be looked after., I personally wouldn't risk it.
I was also told no gym until 6 weeks, but again like misf1 says you can go on long walks.

Re: desperate for the gym
Hi
Same as natalia ... I walk 5 miles about four times a week and have actually lost three pounds since my BA, meaning I am now lighter than when I had it done (month ago). It takes twice as long to burn the calories but you can still do it without raising your heart rate, bouncing your boobs or breaking a sweat!!

Re: desperate for the gym
The average woman burns about 100 calories per mile, regardless of the pace. Honestly I would think that walking (wearing an extremely supportive bra) and using the recumbent bike would be fine.

Re: desperate for the gym
I'm with the rest of the ladies here, if you've been instructed by your clinic to wait 6 weeks before returning to the gym, then it's best to follow that advice sweetheart. There's no point rushing the last couple of weeks of your recovery and risking setting yourself back. Keep yourself active with walking as misf1 suggested and being aware of what you're eating (it's all to easy to rely on comfort food through your recovery) If you stick to these things you'll do just fine and the next couple of weeks will fly over and you'll soon be 'safely' back at the gym. xx
Re: desperate for the gym
I would seek advice from your clinic hun and follow the instructions given, I for one wouldn't risk it for the sake of a few more weeks. I too was told about 6 weeks, I want to go back to the gym but still don't feel comfortable yet. I may go soon thou, start by walking very slowly on the treadmill! x x

Hey Goldenrule The person probably mistakenly thought you weren't a newbie hunni, pic requests are only open to regular members as stated in the PM you were sent and the messages left for you on the forum to look at the forum rules babe. xxx
Re: desperate for the gym
I was told 6 weeks after BA but like you was going insane & feeling wobbly. As my PS said a brisk walk was fine what i did was use my crosstrainer (i have one & a treadmill at home). I just never used my arms on it though. So i did a mini cardio work out using legs only.
Best to check what your PS says though ;-) xx
