Re: bio oil
Hey hun
Some use it to put on their boobies pre-surgery to keep the skin nice and soft and supple to help when the skin stretches.
Also once you have had the surgery you can use it on your boobies to soothe them as the skin stretches but be careful not to get it on your scars until your PS says that you can start to put stuff on them.
Then you can use it to rub in and massage into your scars, again it helps with the tight feeling and also helps to reduce the scarring, and any stretch marks that you might get.
I use mine twice a day

Re: bio oil
hi hun
i was told by my PC that you can't use this till you're about 6wks post op as it is perfumed, and can only be used on the scars once they're completely closed
you can rub a few drops on your boobs, just not on the scars.once you can start using it on your scars, it really does help to fade them.
you can actually buy a cheaper version for about £2 called rescue oil....they sell it in places like Home Bargains or B&M
i was given a special surgical oil from my hospital that i could use straight away on my scars, and its helped LOADS....i had an uplift and re-aug 3wks ago, and i can hardly see the scar that runs down from my nipple to the base of my breasts now

Re: bio oil
It makes sense to moisturise daily with a oil based rather than water based moisturiser for a good month beforehand. This way your skins elasticity is already developed to accomodate the implant.
Then I guess continue the daily moisturising on your boobs (not scars) to make sure your skin stays moist. without this it could get dry and very tender.
What do you use on your skin now?

I used palmers cocoa butter as this is my usual moisturiser anyway, but I love the smell and I found the oils to well, oily !!
But make sure that it is only on your boobies and not your scars hun, don't put anything on them until you are advised that you can do by your PS xx

Re: bio oil
I used bio-oil twice a day on the boobies morning and night pre-op in preparation and have continued to do the same post op. I was given the go ahead at 2 weeks and have been massaging my scars with the oil.
If you get dry skin post op you can use it on your boobies but like eastla has said be very careful not to get any on your scars until you get the go ahead from your ps. The incisions need to be fully closed and healed before anything can be applied.
Not long to go now! x x

Re: bio oil
You can use any moisturiser on your boobs to keep the skin supple (I used E45 cream) but as has been said already "don't get anything near your wounds"! You'll probably find in the first few days after surgery your skin is sensitive and you won't want to bother putting anything on them, this is fine so don't be panicing thinking you skin may get damaged, just listen to your own body hunny - when you're feeling up to it, if you can, moisturise in the morning and last thing at night with whatever you're comfortable with. xxx
Re: bio oil
I agree you can use your normal moisturiser or any of the others mentioned. I used palmers cocoa butter and bio oil as they were both for stretch marks and I was paranoid about getting them, not that it does prevent stretchmarks, if you are going to get them you just will, but the lotions will help fade them should you get them.
Re: bio oil
Ifind the bio oil has been amazing in helping to fade my scars,i started to use it at about 6weeks post op x

Re: bio oil
The one thing that I would do differently is use Bio Oil before my op. I ended up with stretchmarks, and although you can't see them anymore, they were purple for a while.
I used Bio oil after about 6 week, and even then not on my scars. I'd wait a good 2-3 months before putting it on your scars.
