flakey boobs !!
hi lovelys
i noticed this morning that my boobs have lots of chunks of flakey skin pealing off my boobs. i didnt think anything of it and just brushed it off. i have just had another look and the whole of my boobs are pealing and even my scars.
i dont know what to do about it as my nurse said NOTHING on boobs for the first 6 wks no moisturiser and no soap or shower gels.
will it be ok for me to just leave it???
anyone else had this???
i think i remember one of you lovely girls telling me they had it and when it cleared up the shiney boobs went to, i hope this is the case for me lol.
any advice would be great
thanks
amanda

Re: flakey boobs !!
Hi Darlin
I didn't have this ... but I have heard of other ladies getting it .. dry flakey skin, so I think that it's pretty normal.

Re: flakey boobs !!
I had some dry skin at around the same time hun, could you double check with your surgeon if you can't use cream on your boobs? I used alot of cocoa butter from the start (not on scars) as i didnt was stretchmarks and the flakes and shiney boobs show your skin is stretching alot. It does go though dont worry xxx

Hi Amanda
I'm going through the same thing with my re-op boob right now, i had it after my original op too. I don't know why it happens but it does seem a normal part of healing
I've been using moisturiser just not on my scars (but i wasn't told not to) and it seems to be clearing slowly

Re: flakey boobs !!
This is a bit of a worry to me,- i'm pre op at the moment, but on both breasts i have a patch of psoriasis down the sides (dry red itchy flaky skin). i've been putting vaseline intensive cream on them, but its not making much of a difference.
I really hope i don't get more psoriasis after my op?
I'm in a catch twenty two situation because i know my psoriasis is stress related, and its the thought of my op that is causing the stress!! can't win
Does anyone else have psoriasis?

Re: flakey boobs !!
I do hun. Mine tends to be Knees, Elbows, Ankles. I did make sure i applied plenty of cream (the one i get from the docs ) pre-op and thankfully i didn't get any major flare ups.
Fingers crossed you won't either

Re: flakey boobs !!
Hey hun, I think it's quite normal, mine were dry & flakey but seem much better now (7 weeks tomorrow!) However, I've been moisturising them daily, which I think has helped - I asked my nurse on day 6 if I could use moisturiser & she said yes. Xx
