I am having BA on the 19th April, and my sister is getting married on the 15th May, so almost 4 weeks later. Will I still need to wear my sports bra or will I am able to wear something a little less well, BIG????

After my 1 week post op check the surgeon said if I had a special event or night out etc it would be fine to go sports braless!! He did say the sports bra is purely for comfort, I am tending not to wear it all day at home but do in bed as it is more comfortable.

I'm sure it will depend on how well you're healing hun. I'd check with your clinic nearer the time and ask their opinion, but at 4 weeks post-op all being well, I'm sure they'd say you would be OK to at least wear a wireless bra for the day. xx

He told me this too! However, I'm too scared to take off my sports bra and only do so for a shower and when massaging my scars twice a day! I have only just given up my beloved steri strips last week these were my comforters and it was hard for me to let them go! x x

I think a wireless bra will be fine, Marks and Spencers do some really discreet, comfortable ones. xx

I reckon you'll be fine just for the day- i went out braless for the first time at 5 weeks and other than them still looking like jordan's boobs and aching like crazy the next day it was all fine. x

Re: Can somebody please tell me....
I'm due to get measured on the 10th as instructed by my ps, and wear the bra to my next check up, which is on the 12th. Now I forgot to ask him whether I should get measured for and wear an underwired bra? I will email him to make sure but wondered what you girls thought? I will be 5 weeks PO at the time of check up.
Thanks! x x

Re: Can somebody please tell me....
I was only told to wear my sp bra for 4weeks but i kept wearing it most of the time until 6wks. I would check with your surgeon but I'm sure you will be ok - maybe look at a wireless bra that isnt a sports bra. xx
