Sun Sun Sun! Empty Sun Sun Sun!

Post by hattie260 25th March 2010, 8:07 pm

Hi Ladies,

I am going to Lanzarote on Saturday (yippeeeeeee!!) and I was wondering about scars in the sun. I had nipple incision coming up to 9 weeks ago which have completely healed and are barely visible. I know you shouldn't expose them too much in the sun but I wondered if I could sunbathe topless with some sun block on my scars or do you think it is best to just keep them under wraps altogether? Also as bikinis are not particularly supportive do you thinK i will be ok wearing bikinis everyday??

Thanks girls!

Definately keep your scarring covered hun. The general advice from surgeons is not to expose your scars to the sun for 1 year as they are at risk of skin pigmentation, so you could end up with dark brown scarring babe just for the sake of a suntan - Just not worth the risk IMO. xxx

Also something to remember hun is that swimwear is very thin so the sun can still penetrate you bikini. Last year I went away about 2months after my ba and still wore a high sunfactor under my bikini just to be on the safe side.

Enjoy you hols! xx

altho I haven't had my BA yet, I had a ceasarean a year ago and I started useing sunbeds again not covering my scar properly after about 8 weeks, and it went really really dark for ages, I wouldn't recommend it!

Def use total block, even under your bikini, and re-apply it often.

Have a great time, I wish I was going on holiday!

Is that in a stick or do you use cream ?

Have seen creams for 50, was just hoping I could find a stick.

But if only creams then that will do - like you say hun they do deserve the best I certainly dont want to do anything to spoil them !! xx
