Timescale
Hiya everyone
I'm starting to get obsessed with this and its all I can think about! :-)
How long did it take for you, from first looking into it...to getting your BA?
I'm still 'thinking' about it, the more I think about it, the more I want it BUT I want to have a cooling off period to weigh up the pros and cons, consider how i'm going to finance it, discuss with friends and family etc.
In the back of my mind I'm thinking I could have this done by the end of the year, maybe towards the end of summer.
BUT I've got a week off next week, with no plans. Its a perfect time to book some consultations. BUT I don't want to go to a consultation then feel pressured into getting the ball rolling. I'm really excited about this at the moment but I do want to sit back and think about it too.
Could I realistically get a couple of consultations lined up for next week or is that short notice?
Once i've had a consultation would it be easy to put them off for a while, or will they hound me?
How long did you guys take to ponder your decision?

Re: Timescale
I had my consultations 2 years before I booked, as money was the problem, as soon as I got the money I had a consultation with the surgeon I liked most and booked it for a a month from then. They didn't hound me at Transform, and they actually say oon their website now that they wont put sales pressure on you (so if they did call remind them). But I would go for consulatations if I were you and just get a feel for it.

Re: Timescale
I had my first two consultations last year. I found one surgeon really pleasant and the other made me feel uncomfortable so I am taking my time with it. But yeah I am like I am so ready for it but finance is sort of getting in the way. I keep wondering if I shoul go for a few more consultations before making my mind up and may even have another chat with the surgeon I saw last year as well just to make sure I have chosen the right one.
I would first do some research on BA and search for some surgeons maybe in your area and work from that.

Re: Timescale
I first started looking into BA's the day after New Years Eve and then came across this forum in early January and over the next few weeks asked lots of Qs, did lots of research, booked and attended 3 consultations, chose my surgeon, booked my op in Febuary and had my op in March, phew! I did spend every waking minute researching during this time!
The company I chose (Mybreast) did not hound me at all, in fact they tend to just leave you to make your decision at your own pace. For me once I felt informed enough and confident I just went for it as it was right for me.
I am now 8 days post op and still can't believe it!

Re: Timescale
LOL!!! @funkygirl.
For everyone timescale is different, some need more time than others to make a well informed decision and for whatever other reasons.
I feel I need to start research all over again and chose a surgeon. I am all for travelling for it but do you think travelling from Hull to London is too far?
How many times will you need to see the surgeon after the op?

Re: Timescale
I started looking into bas a good few years ago and made appointments but never went as I was to nervous and didnt think I'd ever afford it. Then last year I had 3/4 consults and booked up in may for july. I think most people take a while to decide but if you know its what you want then theres nothing wrong with going for it either. x

Re: Timescale
I've always secretly wanted to have mine done, but never in a million years thought I would. Then in August after feeling really down on a beach holiday I spoke to my hubby about it and he said if you want to, just do it. So I researched like mad, found this fab forum...thank you so much ladies cos I definately couldn't have done it without you had 3 consultations and then booked it for December. So just five months from start to finish.

Re: Timescale
I had my first consultation in Brighton about 12 yrs ago!!! never did anything about it though!
Since then I had 2 babies and don't plan on anymore so thought now would be a good time.
Had my consult on 23rd February then had to call and book and the only date they had was 4th May! they did have a cancellation for the 24th March but it's the one day I just can't organize.
I am nervous like everyone but weighing up the options (chicken fillets and gel bra's) there just is no other choice!

Re: Timescale
I had my consultation in January and booked for September! Things don't have to progress fast if you don't want them to. Of course, I want them to, but here in the U.S. you can't get silicone implants until you're 22.

Re: Timescale
Its something i've always said, 'if i could, i would'. My journey started in December 2008,- I registered for information over the web with Transform, then received a call from them instead inviting me in for a consultaion. I thought 'why not' i've always been curious about it, so i went to see the patient co ordinator,- that was also in Dec 08. I then arranged to see a surgeon in January 2009. After that, i booked a BA for April 2009,- however, i got scared and so worried, i cancelled.
It never left my mind though and so i can't remember which month it was, but i phoned them again and again went through the process of seeing the patient co ordinator and the surgeon. I finally booked for July 2009 and this time went through with it. Not looked back since, in fact, i'm looking to the future and may well in 8 or 9 years time, have an uplift and another enlargement!!! got to start saving!
