Re: Butterflies
I just tried to totally forget about it and got busy making sure all the housework was done etc. I think I was lucky in a way as Christmas preparations took my mind off the operation day.
I was really nervous the day before, but like Kerry was fine on the actual day. You'll be fine, just try not to 'over think' the whole thing.
Good luck with everything

Re: Butterflies
Its very hard to think of anything but boobs in the run up to your op. That's why its so nice to be able to talk about it here! Like Tabitha said try not to over think it all and just chill. xxx

Re: Butterflies
I went shopping, bought lots of sports bras, new dressing gown, slippers, bag ready for me op. I spent my life for 2 weeks before my op on here reading stories and on google looking at before and after pics, couldn't even concentrate in work and drove everyone mad talking about boobs. I couldn't take my mind off it even if I tried, so I just tried to prepare everything and prepare myself. I wrote lists of all the stuff I needed to take with me for the hotel, lists for what I needed to take for a day case (not much lol). In prepareing myself it took my mind off the actual op and nerves.
Re: Butterflies
thanks girls!!! Im quite lucky because my best friend is a nurse in a hospital in london and he has been in on BA surgerys and although he is completely insane most of the time he has a very calming affect on me when its needed and he is going to come with me aswel as my mum and aunt, so at least thats something, but as you girls have said i cant get the boobies off my mind!!! 10 days and it'll all be over!!! sigh!! im scared!!!! lol thanks again girls its so nice having the support from people that understand!!!

Re: Butterflies
And now it's 9 days and it'll all be over!! Surgical procedures, whether under general or local are scary. Every moment seems to last for so long now but you are already a day ahead of where you were yesterday!
A nutty medical friend always helps! Can't be that life threatening if they are able to jolly you up, eh?
You WILL be fine and you WILL have lovely boobies, so good luck, not that you'll need it!!

Re: Butterflies
I don't think I was very calm before my op, obsessive would be a more accurate description , just found I couldn't think of anything else, x

hi hun
im now 12 dys post op and back at work!
got the monday blues but apart from that im fine hun, had my strappijg off last wednesday which was a releif! soaked my steri strips off last night in a nice bath, was nice to escape from the sports bra for 10 mins! lol
nurse advises boobies are healing as expected, there still very high up and hard but ive been advised they will drop slightly and soften up in time.
i have my check up with my surgeon on jan 25th so will keep you updated.
how are you feeling now? xx

Re: Butterflies
Awww toots, like the girls have said even if you 'try' and keep busy you'll still end up thinking and worrying about it.
It's the most natural feeling to be anxious and part of the start of your journey... I'm not going to say 'don't worry' - what I will say is embrace it and remember this time as in a couple of weeks you will look back and wonder why you worried so much!!
Deep breathes too

Re: Butterflies
Aw thanks girls!!! I've been freaking out quite a bit, i woke up yesterday with one nostril being blocked and a tinge of a sore throat and I was like NOOOOOOOOOO! So i got the old 'first defense' out and am hoping it will do its job, it has started to make a bit of difference, and then I wake up this morning and the snow!!! what a joke!! i went up to do my horse this morning and got my car stuck, i've only just got home. so i've had a lot to keep me stressed!!! cant believe its only 3days to B(oobie)day!!! Am actually feeling sick about it know!! ha ha, oh god! x

Re: Butterflies
Good luck for boobie day!
A friend of mine who is into alternative therapy said that Bach's rescue remedy is good for calming nerves (you can buy it in Boots)
Also, she says that if you tap underneath your left eye with your finger and wiggle another finger in your belly button this will calm your nerves....!!!
Er, can't say I've tried it yet, but it's worth a go for the sheer ridiculousness of it!!!
