Bumpy Scar??
Hi ladies
I had my first bath last night (no longer feel like a sweaty skank! ) when I noticed my scar on my right boob is really raised and lumpy, whereas the one on the left is really smooth and flat and really hardly noticeable. Is this normal to have lumpy bumpy scars??

Re: Bumpy Scar??
I think massaging the scar quite firmly should help hun, mine were quite lumpy too but they're starting to flatten out now so I wouldn't worry too much at this stage.

Re: Bumpy Scar??
Thanks girls, I know I can massage them with bio oil from 6 weeks, but can i massage them now without any oil to flatten them out or are they best left alone to heal at this stage??

Re: Bumpy Scar??
.x. mine were still quite raised and angry and a bit bumpy at this point.. i wouldn't panic and start massaging them directly yet because you might aggravate them if they are not fully healed over yet...but once you get the all clear to start using bio oil on them I don't see the harm in giving them a bit of a massage then..i personally used the bio oil but didnt really "massage" the scars as such very much and mine settled down on their own xxxxxxxxxxxxx .x.

Re: Bumpy Scar??
Hi hun I had the same as you one bumpy scar & one smooth for the 1st 2 weeks but then the bumpy one went down & the flat one started to get lumpy! LOL turned out i had some stitches making there way to the surface.............Im 5 & half weeks post-op now & they are both silky smooth so i guess it just takes time for all the stitches to dissolve & flatten

Re: Bumpy Scar??
They will smooth out soon hun, everyones different, mine were never bumpy but loads are, when you're given the all clear start rubbing them and apply pressure with some scar cream, that will break down the scar tissue x
