Sports bra vs real bra sizes
Hi
I am now nearly 3 weeks post op and fitting a double D sports bra. My question is when I eventually get to buy normal bras, am I going to be the same size in them or do sports bras measure differently?
I am very happy to be a double D as they look quite small on me ....I think because I am tall (5'10'') and have a wide chest (36''). My friend who also had a BA and is a double D looks much bigger but she has a smaller frame.

Re: Sports bra vs real bra sizes
Hi SW!!
Different builds on people will make implants appear different, as you say your friendis smaller but looks bigger.
However, when you get measured for a 'proper bra' I am sure it will be a bigger cup size like most girls and myself. Sports bras squash and hold your boobs in and make them appear small. Proper bras are a bit of a shocker at first as they if measured properly can scare you!! I would initially not buy many as they do change over the months as they settle and soften and you need to buy different sizes.
I would wait till six weeks to get measured, as although they will have softenened some, they do not sit properly in bras initially as they dont move enough and band fails to sit flat on chest.... and you come out of shop feeling quite sad when you go in all excited.
Patience and sports bras for now is best xx

Hiya
I wore C sports bra and was measured a DD! you will most likely go up a cup size or more.

I can still fit into my DD sports bras and wear them now when I go to the gym so I reckon you'll definately go up a cup size or two once you're measured properly!

My sports bras were a total guess so I was wearing a 36DD but at 6 weeks measured a 34F. Best to wait and get measured properly honey xxx
