Fed Up :-(
...and feeling very bad about feeling fed up when I now have the boobs ive always dreamed of... BUT my back is soooooo sore. It aches and hurts and no matter what I do I cant get comfortable. Due to this, I decided last night I would have to lay flat in bed, so boobs came second to back! I woke up in a lot of discomfort - back was fine but boobs felt awful ! So sore at the sides - achey and bruised. Add to this the fact that I have a band of sticky porous tape holding the implants in place across my chest - and I have very pale sensitive skin, and am allergic to the glue! So I have blisters forming in several areas that are sore and itchy!!
I have decided to take a couple of the heavy duty pain killers that knock me for six to address both problems and hopefully I will sleep and wake up happy again!!
Sorry for the whinge - I just had to get that off my chest !

Hello
I have so much sympathy for you as i am going through the same problem. My back is killing me. I feel like someone has beaten me sensless in the ribs also.
I have tried loads of pillows, then just a few but nothing works. Last night i decided not to bother going to bed as i knew how much pain id be in , in the morning.(the morning before i was in agony trying to get up)
I slept upright with just 2 hard pillows behind me on the sofa. I must say it was much better although i woke at 5am in discomfort and all i wanted to do was lay down and curl up i am only 3 days post op and am hoping things will get better soon. The tablets i got are useless. doesnt help as im sat around all day and night, I try and have a wander round a bit but when you cant do a lot whats the point!
I am going to try a heat band or hot water bottle to see if it helps.
I hope you feel better soon (and me!) .
sorry i cant help, but im here always for a chat as i know just how your feeling

Michas, poor you! Hope you feel better after a sleep, it always helps if you can get some rest. Don't know what to suggest except trying a v pillow, I had one and think it helped although I wasn't sure quite how to use it!
Take care, it will get better and easier day by day!

I had a V Pillow when I was pregnant but that was 11 years ago! so I didnt have a hope of finding it. How exactly are you girls using it? I know that sounds like a daft question but I cant see what benefit it would give me over normal pillows.
Thanks

Aww thanks - not sure I can take these tablets as often as I would like tho! and they rather stuff up any other sort of activity! Have had a lovely sleep but now have to go and collect youngest from school. A foolish offer first thing this morning to make up for the requests ive been putting on hubby due to my BA. Now of course I wish I hadnt as the Solpadol would have meant I could have slept for hours!!
Might be good to have a little walk up the road in the breeze actually though. Ive got my pjs on under my coat!! Who cares eh?!

Re: Fed Up :-(
Ah chick its tough the first week but it will get better believe me, I felt rubbish for quite a while and my main problem was a blister from the strapping. It was so sore and I was panicking in case it got infected. My mum went into boots for some dressing for me and the chemist there said that the amount of girls who have bad reactions from the strapping is unbelievable and they often cause more problems than the scars. So make sure you keep an eye on them and if you can put dry dressings on then to help them scab over.
My back also ached but that gets easier or you get used to it, think I'm just use to it by now and I'm still sleeping raised up, it hurts more for me to lay flat!
Hope you feel better soon chick I'm sure you will xxx

Sending you big bear hugs michas xx
I Know...I know....not good for the back and boobies
But great for the spirit!!xxxx
Have you got a heat pad? An aromathearapy wheat bag to pop in micro...I found that helped ease of stiffness from bad posture and resulting muscle tension. xx

Re: Fed Up :-(
Get someone to go to Boots Chemist and get some Arnica 30C for you. They are really good for bruising. They will help you heal a lot quicker. You can pop them every hour if need be.

Re: Fed Up :-(
KerryMac - thanks hun - the strapping is a complete pain but I spoke to the nurse this morning and she also said its sadly quite common for girls to have problems with the tape. Its due to the way its stretched really tight across the skin, and the skin blisters. She recommended I cut off the bits of strapping that are covering where blisters are forming. I have already done this in places but its not possible in all areas. Still, only another day to go and it all comes off

Re: Fed Up :-(
Bet you can't wait to have that tape off hun, I totally sympathise with the bad back, I had the same thing and it is awful. It just wouldn't go away. Take some tablets, make sure you walk about a bit in the day and check your posture when sitting and standing as walking slightly hunched is only natural after you BA but try and sit/stand with your shoulders back, and back straight. It will help a bit.
Re: Fed Up :-(
Lots of great ideas ladies - thanks... Heatpad (thanks Mia!) is a great idea, as is Arnica (thanks Joyfulone!) - I have been taking Arnica before the op and forgot all about it! have started again tonight...v pillow i believe is in the loft (thanks Drofty/Sasha/Whoopsie!) which I will get hubby to hunt for when he has a second (!!), Piriton - cheers Nads...oh and that bear hug Mia has made me feel loads better ;-)
Have got some more ibruprofen and am taking as much as Im allowed! (before it hurts! - thx Katie!) ...Thats gotta help! ... and Misf, posture is important I know but im finding it quite hard to put my shoulders back. Will try and make a conscious effort because I cant bear this back ache *wimp!!*

Re: Fed Up :-(
Sounding a bit better michas???
Hope some of the tips will help, you could also get some arnica cream/gel if bruising is a concern. the tablets are normally taken for a wek/ten days after.
Once your dressings are removed you should feel human again xx

I had a hot water bottle on my back a lot (it was a heatwave) just to take the pain away. It really does help.

Re: Fed Up :-(
Awww thanks girls - I am feeling lots better today. My back hurts but my new boobies are starting to feel like me (strange because I thought they felt part of me all along but today they really do!)...
It is a whole week now - this time last week I was sitting in hospital spaced out on Morphine. So after a night of sleeping propped up and as comfy as I could make myself, I got up this morning and have just pottered. I havent avoided doing anything - but im not being silly. I need to start getting back to normal rather than stopping myself doing stuff because I might hurt myself. 1 week post op, things must be settling, and i cant stay off work much longer, so got to get myself ready.
Cant drive just yet because of these pain killers, but I wont take any more today (just paracetemol if I need anything) as I have my post op appointment tomorrow morning where all my dressings are coming off. Mia - I really will feel human again once thats done!! Spire is 21 miles from me. My car is not automatic and im a bit concerned about driving, but thats part of the reason im doing stuff today to get my muscles used to the idea again of actually working!!
