Im not denying you have boobs lol im saying surgeons do not work in bra sizes as all bra makers make them in different sizes anyway, for example a La Senza DD will be much smaller than an M&S DD, surgeons always work in cc's or grams, that is a fact and that is all i am saying, i'm not having a go.

my surgeon did not say anything about cc?
i'm not the happiest at the min.. being in constant pain, unsure of boobs etc,,, so dont have the energy for you to be saying it's this, it's that.
i've said what i've got.
i dont no my cc.
nothing else to say about it nads

BUT:

the implant size is the most important decision to make!!
You had obviously already decided on surgery by seeing a consultant, so the implant size is the only thing left to discuss and decide. It seems implausible (in my opinion) that you wouldnt know this. Its a serious and expensive decision, and I cant imagine how anyone could go into it so blindly

Its like saying"Im off to the hairdressers to have my hair coloured"
"Oh, lovely! What colour are you having?"
"Oh, I dont know."

Hi Hunni

What Nads is saying is right, surgeons do work in CC size. However, what I think has happened is that your surgeon has told you that you will be a DD, and then used his best judgement to decide on the cc that you need.

So you will have had a certain size implant, measured in cc, but you haven't had that information.

Please don't get upset, darling. We're all here to support you hunni, and I know that you're probably not feeling your best right now, being in pain and stuff. Also you found this site quite late in the process just days before your surgery. And had you found it earlier you may have been better informed.

What's important now is resting and getting yourself healed. And you'll hopefully end up with the boobies that you've wished for.

Like Maria said!

You may want to call your patient care co-ordinator and find out what your notes say. If you ever need a reop in the future (eg if you want them replaced or just want to go bigger) you'll need to know what size you were.

Did you get a booklet after your op detailing the make of implants you had?

did you get a id card hunni????
i got one and you need to carry it in your purse incase you have an accident or something so the medical experts know you have implants. if you have one have a look because it should say your implant brand and size (cc/grams) on there.
hope that helps

And if you're ever in an accident they can ID you from the serial number on the implants!

How weird is that... it's like having a barcode!

Post by TinyMe 4th March 2009, 9:12 pm

Every surgeon I have seen has said that they do not like talking about cupsizes, because it is not an exact science since different bra manufacturers has different sized cups.

cc is a measurement of volume and that is what surgeons usually discuss. If your surgeon says that you will have a DD, then he probably has a size (cc) in mind. I am sure your surgeon works in cc as well even if you didn't discuss that.

To make it more difficult, one size (i.e 250cc) can look very different depending on projection etc because it is a Volume measurement. If you have a high projection implant the diameter will be smaller and vice versa.
The projection will also affect how big they look.
Hope this makes sense.
