They use CUI's as standard but I've heard of others having them order the inspiras for them. Not sure how much extra they charge for that though. I imagine they'll order you any type you want if you're willing to pay for them

I wouldn't choose the inspiras just because you don't ever want them replaced. A lifetime guarantee does not mean they are guaranteed to last a lifetime, it just means that if you do get a rupture that Allergan will replace the implants free of charge. I went for the CUI's that only have a 10 year guarantee because it's possible I will need a re-op in 10-20 years time anyway due to pregnancy, gravity lol - anything really! Technology is always changing, you might want to replace your implants with more recent technology if you do end up needing a re-op in the distant future. Implants are a lifetime commitment usually and I think it's slightly naive to think you will never want or need to have a review of them. xx

Re: MYA implant info anyone?
I read somewhere, possible on snakes website (he hasnt been on the forum for ages, has he?) that the CUI's and inspriras are the same except for the inspiras feeling softer or something along those lines. Also that the CUI's are more cohesive than inspiras, so I would rather have the CUI's - I'd much prefer them to stay in one piece if they rupture rather than have slightly softer feeling boobies! I dont think there's a huge difference between them really, just that one has had extensive tests by the FDA and the other hasnt. Made with similar technology

Re: MYA implant info anyone?
Even the inspiras are not FDA approved though...there has been quite a lot of confusion over that - if you read DBS's diary she went to a lot of effort to get to the bottom of it xx

Oh, which ones are FDA approved then? Not that it matters to me very much, the ones that arent approved havent been rejected or anything, its just that there havent been enough tests done on them. I suppose it is nice to have the extra reassurance that they have been deemed safe, but it hasnt swayed my decision

Re: MYA implant info anyone?
I think it's just the Allergan McGhan 110 implant that's approved in their catalogue, but to be honest i can't think of one person who has had that model. I think it was just a clever marketing ploy - get one implant FDA approved in the range and then coast along letting people think the rest of their implants are also approved because without sites like these, a lot of girls go in for surgery without doing a lot of research xx
