how much were you quoted for BA and how much did you pay?
Hi,
I feel so stressed, i thought i had the finances covered for my BA but we've been clobbered with a few large bills and now I'm panicking that if i spend all this money it really leaves us with nothing to speak of.
The ba that i'm really keen on is anatomical and i've got three consultations booked - i've seen one pa and two to go...
so how much were you quoted for your BA ?
what type of BA did you go for ?
on a scale of 1 to 10 how happy are you with the result ?
and lastly, what did you actually pay for your BA ?
many thanks to anyone that replies.

Re: how much were you quoted for BA and how much did you pay?
hi, i went abroad for my surgery so i´m not sure how it actually comes to in uk..
but i was quoted 360000 icelandic krona which at today´s rate is 1800 pounds. i´d say that after everything, including flights, consultations, bra´s and meds it came to around 2200 pounds...
i had unders, 350cc
i am around 8 on happy scale right now, it´only been 6 days and i´m still very swollen, one boob is a bit bigger than the other but it´s not that noticable that it looks bad. am sure that after a few weeks things will start to even up :)
hope this helps, like i said i can´t answer for how it is in the uk, but i think it would have cost me around 4500

Hi again,
they were allergan 410's (the style not size).
very happy with healing etc. and my OH says they are better than he expected...so natural and soft a playdoh'y (think that was a compliment, lol) avvy piccy is in a naughty proper bra (not padded or uplift) which I am chuffed with that dresses them up with good cleavage.

Re: how much were you quoted for BA and how much did you pay?
I went abroad too and paid £1850 with everything included i had round high profile mentors, im really pleased with mine although dont think i would have went away if my mum didnt live in Turkey (she had her op there too)

I know anatomicals cost quiet a bit more than round, so most ladies tend to go for round's unless the surgeon specialises in them or says you need to have them. I think you can achive great results with both implants IMO.

Re: how much were you quoted for BA and how much did you pay?
£4650
445cc Allergan Inspira Soft Touch
Mybreast
I had unders initially but due to a bad muscle flex distortion and double bubble in both breasts I had a reop with new implants put over the muscle (same size) 10 weeks after my initial surgery. I'm 100% happy with the treatment I've received and with my boobs. They are a lot bigger than I would have initially gone for but I love them and wouldn't change them for the world.

Re: how much were you quoted for BA and how much did you pay?
Maybe I should add that I didn't go with a company, so there was no advertising, patient co-rdinators wages or anything to come off. My anatomicals were standard, and I saw the sugeon himself on every visit. My surgeon is also an NHS consultant surgeon specialising in breast reconstruction. There are vive centres all over uk if you wan't to google them. Surgeons are BAAPS registered too!

Re: how much were you quoted for BA and how much did you pay?
pajama i am icelandic so it wasn´t that hard to decide, i was going to get them done in uk but it just came to me one day because of how the economy is in iceland, how much cheaper it would cost me to do it "at home" :) i just did just researching on icelandic forums and there are only about 8 in total that do this surgery here, but the one i went with used to have a surgery in america and seemed to have more about him :)
kazzy i was 34A, and right now i´m wearing D support bra which is too tight so i think i´ll need a DD for the moment while i´m still quite swollen.

Re: how much were you quoted for BA and how much did you pay?
maybe this is something i need to consider drofty, i am finding that 4700 is right now, a lot financially for us and will be for the forseeable future... i worry that i'm being a bit selfish spending our family finances on this (even though it's something that my H is pretty much onside with and knows has been an issue for me for many many years.)
thank you for sharing the information with me ladies... so much to consider!

Re: how much were you quoted for BA and how much did you pay?
Hi, i wanted anatomical as i am only small but my surgeon advised against it and to just go for unders and wear a velcro band over the sports bra for 6 weeks and it will give me the natural look.
I went to Surgicare in manchester
cost £3600
10 out of 10, however i am only 4 weeks post
the hospital they use is lovely, very clean and the staff are really kind and will do anything for you.
good luck!!x

Hi
I have paid £3,200 with MYA, I had a £500 voucher that I got off the internet and I got a further £195 off as my surgeon works for Transform too so I haggled on the price. I am a day case too.

Hi,
Quoted £4390
Paid £4390 at Holly House Hospital, Buckhurst Hill.
Round high profile Nagor GFX 340cc
100% happy although do wish I'd gone for a larger implant.
I am 5ft 9 and 11st so think a larger implant would've looked ok on me but was scared of going too big!!
Hope this helps

Re: how much were you quoted for BA and how much did you pay?
Hey huni,
I'm still pre-op but I can tell you that I was initially quoted £3995 through Transform but I will only be paying £3795 for an overnight stay after I told them I'd been for a consult at MYA who had quoted me £3750. I know MYA are slightly cheaper but their clinic is further away from me and would cost me more to travel there for check-ups etc. Plus the surgery would be further away so the journey home would take longer. I havent decided on which surgeon I'm going with through Transform yet as I've asked to meet a second one of their's just to be sure I'm choosing the right one, but I feel comfortable with my co-ordinator, as in I trust she would help me if I had any complications. Also the price is reasonable and the clinic is closer than the other high street companies (although it is still over 100 miles away! living in Aberdeen has its drawbacks! hehe)
