Is this too big for me?
Hi girls. I've just had a consultation with a different surgeon. The first guy I saw reccommended 350cc low profiles and now I'm being told these would make no difference to me. Sooo he gave me a 460cc high profile to try which was so much bigger than I planned to go, I asked him what was the smallest implant he'd let me have and he said 410cc (both of which should take me to an E cup apparently, again bigger than I planned) he said I can go even bigger to a 525 but this is just out of the question for me.
I'm only 5ft tall, 7st 10lb and size 8 but currently an empty c/d due to weight loss and breastfeeding.
Has anyone else felt gobsmacked by how big their surgeon wants them to go? I know the actual size won't be as big as an implant stuffed down my bra and I'll try and get used to the idea, just looking for a bit of reassurance at the moment. Ideally I'd rather the 410 but he says the 460 would be his preference.
Thanks for listening girls xxx

Re: Is this too big for me?
Its a large sized implant for your height and weight, but the surgeons do know best and it may be as you have quiet a lot of tissue to begin with hun.

Re: Is this too big for me?
I do hun, this is the thing. I'm currently a 32 c/d although quite flat on top after weightloss and breastfeeding. I think when you're starting off with so much tissue you need a fairly big implant to fill you out, this is what I'm guessing anyway. I have a while to think it over. Most girls seem to be going with the biggest of their choices and obviously I want to go with what he feels is best for me, it just seems awfully big.

Re: Is this too big for me?
Im 5'3, 7.5 stone and i had 275s and im in a 32D now, the smaller you are the bigger your implants will look, that does sound like a big size for your frame but your surgeon knows best as he's examined you x
Re: Is this too big for me?
Hiya,
I am 5ft 6inchs and my left breast is a very empty c/d cup after children and my right is an a cup but have stretch to an E cup in my first pregnancy so i know it can take an large implant.
I am hoping when i see my private surgeon i can be offered the 4100cc implant xx

Re: Is this too big for me?
Hi Angelslice,
I had my consult with Mr Adamo yday evening and he suggested I go quite a bit bigger than what I had in mind too... What he has suggested sounds quite big for your frame. He gave me 380's and i'm 5'8, 34b and a size 10 and I'm worried that's too big!
I agree with Natalia, choosing a size is the hardest part. After seeing 2 surgeons it's completely thrown me! Are you seeing anyone else? I'm thinking it may be good to go for a 2nd consult with the first surgeon I saw and/or go for the 3rd consult I have booked in, to get a 3rd opinion...
I hope you are able to make the decision that's best for you soon hun

Re: Is this too big for me?
hey hun I have 525cc but I'm a good 3/4inches taller than you, a size 10 and weigh about a stone more. 525cc doesnt look massive on me I dont think espessically when in clothes. I do think it is quite big considering your pretty little but like cakey said the ps knows his job and has done hundreds of them. have you got any other opinions huni? xx

Re: Is this too big for me?
I think the main thing that's worrying me is that I already have biggish boobs (although a bit saggy). If I was starting out with nothing I would definitely go with the biggest implant offered to me but I'm worried about how much difference it's gonna make to me and what I already have. I was an f cup when I breastfed although and that didn't feel or look weird, maybe I'm worrying about nothing. x

Re: Is this too big for me?
Hi hun, even tho he's recommended a larger implant, maybe think twice about going too big as surely that increases the risk of rippling etc. Better to be slightly smaller and look great than risk having problems.

Thanks Gemma, I know everyone says trust the surgeon and of course I will but I did wonder how many girls went smaller than recommended by their surgeon x

Re: Is this too big for me?
Hey hun,
I went with Mr Adamo and had 410s which was the biggest size he would offer and I thought I would have some rippling because I had not much to start with but there has been none at all. I really think he is a good surgeon and knows his stuff so I wouldn't go any smaller than what he has advised because you might end up with sagging skin around the implant if its not big enough to fill you out. Is he aware of your concerns? Maybe if you speak to him again and make him completely aware you are concerned about going too big he will be able to say more to address your concerns xx

Re: Is this too big for me?
Choosing a size is a nightmare isnt it?
I too had conflicting advice but went with the surgeon who was more concerned about the long term result rather than just giving me bigger boobs.
Are you having implants just to fill out what you already have? High profiles are usually used to do this . Maybe go see him again for reassurance I did this the day before my op cos I was having a freak out over it all!
Good luck with your decision.

Re: Is this too big for me?
Well I do have a tiny bit of rippling but I can only feel it if I'm really feeling for it.
I don't think you will have this problem at all though because you already have a lot of issue to start with. I definitely think you should have another chat with your PS to go over things again - it's a big decision after all.
Good luck choosing your perfect size hun xx

Re: Is this too big for me?
Have another consultation!
I have been offered 410s and 460s. I can't choose between the 2 at the mo- I think 410s would be big enough but I dont want to regret not going for the bigger size so I have asked Dr Khan to order both sizes into the hospital and i can decide on the day
Hope you come to a decision soon- it's a really hard one to make x

Re: Is this too big for me?
Hi girls, thanks for all the replies, it really does help me alot seeing as I don't have anyone close to me I can talk this over with (hubby just says go for the bigger, simple as that lol)
I chose Mr Adamo as my surgeon but unfortunately he is a London based surgeon and only visits Cardiff once in a blue moon so the next time I'll get to see him is the day of the op. Both sizes have been ordered though so I'll have a chat to him then.

Re: Is this too big for me?
Hi,
I was told I could have 400's but chose not to be that big so settled for 345s. I am really happy with them so I guess I am one that could of gone bigger but chose to remain a more natural size and also I didnt want such an 'obvious' different look.......good luck....Im sure whatever you decide on will look fab! xxx

Re: Is this too big for me?
Anne, yes that's exactly what I want, filling out what I already have. I explained I didn't really want to go up a cupsize at all, just be a full d as opposed to an empty one. The way it's turned out though I'll be going up 3 or 4 cup sizes I reckon, it's alot to get my head around lol
