How still do I have to be after the op?
I am basicaly wondering how long I have to be "locked in" my apartment?
Can I go for slow walks and stuff after a couple of days?

Re: How still do I have to be after the op?
I went shopping after my op, literally right after.
Apart from that walking was a no-no for about 5 days. I felt like my boobs were going to fall off! It' just depends on you really. You really don't want to overdo it as you'll be in pain afterwards!
can you sit in the garden for a while instead of going out?

I took it really easy for the first 2 weeks as i was instructed to, i had unders, i stayed in alot of the time and went the the newsagent a couple of times but i didnt want to comprimise my healing by going out too soon. I think the first 2 weeks are critical to take it easy, even if you feel fine x

I was the same as Roxychick after my first BA. I just pottered around the house as you do need to keep moving steadily every so often, but i couldnt walk far as my boobs felt sooo heavy!

Well I've tried to be good today. However I did go shopping in Tesco's on the way home from my BA on Tuesday and yesterday I went to the town with my kids... no lifting or carrying or anything... just mooching round the shops. I'm hoping I've not over-done it. Still in no pain, just stiff... oh yeah and you're all right... those new boobies do feel heavy!

i didnt do anything for the first 4 days even though i had no pain i felt as though i needed to rest. on day 5 i cleaned the full house but when i say clean i mean surface cleaning not spring cleaning lol. no hoovering or anything like that i just made all of the beds (coz hubby never did it) wiped down the kitchen and bathroom, tidy toys away, polished and bleached toilets. it took me about 3 hours when it would normally take about 45mins lol. i havnt been out yet tho.

Re: How still do I have to be after the op?
I went shopping at the supermarket the day after. I didn't do anything strenuous, by boyfriend did all the heavy work, and then I made sure I got out and about and moved about a bit more every day.
About a week after I was doing long walks, (slow), gradually building up the speed. After two weeks I started on the treadmill - uphill walking.
I just made sure that nothing I did hurt - if it did, I would ease off so it didn't. I was very carful.
I think that helped my recovery. My surgeon also told me that it was OK.
