[Breast Width Diameter]

Just wondering how many of you were measured?
I wasn't measured in any way...and although I have a lovely natural result, I can't help but wonder if I could have taken a bigger implant.

[Sorry to bore you with this bit if you already know] ;)
I was down to have 300cc high profile initially, after being offered between 240cc and 350. On the day I asked to change to 350cc, but was told that they would look unnatural and the risks would be higher.

I agreed to go with the 300cc, but once I came round he told me he could only fit in the 275s. I looked at my card once I got home [not til a few weeks later actually!] and discovered that I had been given moderate profile.

At my check up I mentioned this and he basically said that there would have been a reason for this.

I've just been wondering because it seems that there are many girls with smaller/equal build, breast tissue etc being given bigger implants, so I wasn't sure if people had been measured so they know a larger one would fit, or if my surgeon was just being conservative?

Aaargh just the boobie greed I suppose Rolling Eyes

I was measured and was offerred 260 or 300 MHP. After discussion 260cc was decided as my 'skin integrity ' was not good (thin skin) and bigger meant ripples etc were would be more apparant although it would fit. I'm sure your PS chose the best implant to give you as much added volume as possible balanced with decreased complication risks rather than just was conservative in size.

I bet they look boss!!!

They really do Anne.

If forgot to say, my BWD was measured, and the size decided on from that.

What profile were you expecting?

My BWD was measured. I don't know if the implant I was recommended was the biggest that would fit in me, or more likely, the one that would give me the result I was after.

My WD was never measured, i didnt even know what BWD meant until one of the ladies on here told me a fews ago! lol My boobs were very empty and saggy, do you think thats why i wasnt measured across there or is it something only some surgeons do??

Stats:
5ft9
9st 4lb
Size 8-10
Not sure on pre-op cup size....used to wear padded 32b but I don't think I was after looking at other pics. But the band size is definitely right anyway.

I think my boobs before were just weird, I thought they were a bit saggy as they seem to sit quite low on my chest and also I could move them about more than I thought was normal considering they were so small, could get cleavage etc...if that makes any sense whatsoever!

I was down on my form to have high profile. Just seems kinda odd that I was told that I couldn't have 350cc because my chest was very narrow, yet I then ended up with mods, even though it seems some girls are much smaller!

Thanks Anne, I hope you're right, just me having one of those days etc.

You need to compare the diameter of your implant to the diameter of your breast base (BWD). The first should be smaller than the second

e.g. my implant is 12cm the next one down is 11.5cm
my BWD is 12.1cm

Your BWD the surgeon will usually measure with tape and your breast tissue thickness with callipers... this helps him know how much of an implant you can accomodate

Does your slip havve the measurements of your implant?

I was measured and my surgeon has been very careful in making me choose only between implants that have the exact width, he says that's even more important than the size for a good result. However he didn't recommend the biggest possible implant, but that's because I said I didn't want to look massive. However he did recommend one bigger than I thought, because of the width.

My breast width was 10.5 (tiny) and my implant width is 11.5 so i went a little bigger to get some side boobage.

Maybe they were being quite conservative hun, who knows but your boobs are perfect on you know x

My BWD was measured, but I can't remember what it was. 11cm is sticking in my mind but I could be totally wrong!

My ps wanted me to have full projection as I had so little before, so I needed the 4.5cm projection. But there was an extra full projection too, which he said would be too big for me and would have been a 295g. I have no idea what difference the different profiles make.

I think you look just fab as you are! And I'm sure he put in the biggest that he could seeing as he knew you wanted the 350cc...do you feel you want to be bigger? Or just more sticky-outy? (Very technical term lol)

God this is all so confusing! Yeah I have the little slip at home, I'll have to dig it out.
Carrie, I just wanted to be more the size of my rice test, even the 300cc one looks far bigger than I do with clothes on [I know that's not accurate but that is the look I would have liked]
Makes me feel a bit silly for only going to one consultation really, but oh well. I am generally pretty happy with them, I just can't help but wonder if that really was the biggest I could have taken. Still, at least I haven't got any complications *touch wood* :D

As long as you're happy with them now, then that's all the matters. If you have to get them replaced in 15-20 years time then you can go bigger if you want!
