270 or 310 - not sure, please help!
Hi everyone
Thanks for all your support when I posted a message saying I was nervous and unsure about my BA. It is now getting very close, Thursday 20th at 12pm, and I am almost ready, with sports bras bought from M & S and a couple ordered from a catalogue to see which fit best, pain relief and antibiotics from the chemist, fast fastening, loose tops for the days after it, internet shop coming on Wednesday so I won't have to do any carrying for a while and have food in, hairdresser booked on Saturday so that I can have my hair washed in case it is difficult for me to do it...
On the whole, I feel ok about the BA now, and I have been emailing a very nice, friendly woman who had a BA at the same clinic, the Hurlingham, just over 3 weeks ago. She has answered lots of my questions and been very supportive.
The trouble is that I still haven't decided what size to go for - 270 or 310. I have looked at the post-op stats on this forum, but can't make up my mind. I was a 34AA before I had macrolane in December, which has to be taken out during the BA, and I want to be a 34C, but no bigger. I am 5' 8 or 9, a size 10 on the top, and about 9.5 kg, people say I look quite slim.
What do you think? Would be grateful for any feedback. I don't want my BA to be too obvious, but I want it to be worth it.

Re: 270 or 310 - not sure, please help!
Your stats are the same as mine, I'm 5'8" 9 and a half stone and want to look a full C... One thing i've learnt so far is how hard it is to measure and to say what bra size you'd like to be because they are so different... One person's idea of what a 34C is may be completely different to another person's idea!!? It's so hard isn't it?!
Your desired results are exactly the same as mine, so I feel your frustration at having to make a decision! I think i'm going to struggle there too!
Good luck with the op, I hope everything goes very well for you. Looking forward to hearing all about it soon x

Hello Sasha!!
You seem to be organised and well prepared...well done!!
I think your concern is the most common.....as it is true that augmented breasts do tend to measure more than they look. Makes of implants is a big factor as is dimensions, profiles and projection, they differ from one brand to another. As do the consistency of the gel...which enables them to be more movable/squishy. Also, the placement and your body stats. Gosh it is confusing
I am 5' 6'' 9 1/2 stone was 34a and now 34c/d 32dd depending on bra and manufactuer, I aimed for a C and that is what my surgeon said I look....I have no idea really...However, I do know they are a vast improvement and I can buy bras that fit, and I feel good dressed and undressed. I would not go by numbers and letters on bras though, as Kellie said one persons idea of what C is differs to others. Has your surgeon advised you on expected outcome of either of these sizes?
There is little difference between the two 40 cc's a few teaspoons...I think you would be happy with either as they will give you a c cup at least. I could quite easily carry off the 310 in my current brand, shape, and placement and look natural and not obvious that I had been enhanced...but, I do have anatomical implants that provide a more natural result.
I wish you well...I would let your surgeon decide after discussion on what you want...they have more expertise normally. Hopefully, I have not confused you more...not too sure how too explain better xxx

Personally I think when there relatively small difference between implant sizes then going with the bigger size is the way forward.
However, its personal preference and only you can decide with the help of your surgeon.

Re: 270 or 310 - not sure, please help!
I was a similar size to you pre-op: 34aa 5ft 9, size 10 on top (12 on the bottom ).
I had 280 anatomical and am now wearing a 34D in M&S bras. I would say you are very likely to get your C with the 270s. But I wouldn't worry if you end up a cup size bigger either. My D looks a totally average size on my frame and not at all 'big'.
I know that if you've been a 34aa a D sounds enormous - but it really isn't at all! :)
One thing about the difference between 270 and 310. You have to bear in mind that the quality of your existing breast tissue will affect your outcome.
When I discussed sizing with my surgeon, he was not at all keen on me going up to the next size: 320. Yes, it's only 40c difference, but he told me that, because I had thin skin and fairly 'weak' tissue, it was enough to put me at a higher risk of getting a double bubble.
Everyone is different though, and it will be your surgeon who can explain this to you. If your tissue is firm enough then you can safely go for the next size up.

Re: 270 or 310 - not sure, please help!
Thanks to you all for your replies, they have helped me a lot. My surgeon did recommend the 310, but he said the 270 would suit me too, so basically it is my decision. I will ask him on Thursday if the 270 would bring me to a 34C, because I would be happy with that.
Someone described having a BA as a 'journey' on this forum, and I know what she meant, as you go through so much, lots of ups and downs and you have so many emotions about it all!
Will certainly post my BA story here after Thursday, thanks for your good luck wishes!

hi,sasha,if you want to be sure of looking a C,I would go for the larger size,i had 260g and now look about a C but measure D in bras,my stats are a bit smaller than you,so 310g i feel would be a good choice. All the best x

wow you sound organised!!! which is a great start!!! i was very nervous about size, but everyone told me to go for the bigger size or i'd regret it. They were so right!!!!! I went for the bigger size and am so glad i listened to everyone else. Please do go for 310 otherwise you will be disappointed once all the swelling goes down and it will feel like you could have got more for your money!!! Good luck! x x

Re: 270 or 310 - not sure, please help!
With your stats I would go with 310s as you have a 34 back and are quite tall so you can pull it off, so you need a little bigger to look a C but you may measure bigger as implants usually do x
Re: 270 or 310 - not sure, please help!
In my opinion, if I was you, I would go for the 310s, they do measure bigger than they look, I was 34a and I'm fitting a 34e, sports bra at the moment, but I think I look about a D cup, I know I'm only 4 days post op, but I seem to be recovering quite quick ? most of my swelling has gone and I'm beginning to soften up now too :) but at the end of the day it's your decision and you've got to think, would you rather them be on the smaller side or just a tadge bigger ?.........Good luck with your decision
