Hi Girls

I'm 2 1/2 weeks post op and having started to notice a ridge appearing in both boobs, you can see and feel the implant at the bottom. I'm soooo upset I can't stop crying as I know its double bubble and desperately dont want to go under the knife due to my complication first time round, but I also paid £4000 so want a good job..... I'm going to make an appt to see my surgeon next week. Is it normal to have a reop with the same surgeon or can you go with someone else????

I might be jumping the gun at the moment by assuming its DB but what else can it be??

Hi Bambi, sorry to hear about this hun. I can't really help too much on this one, but I'm guessing initially you'd have to go to see your surgeon and if you were not happy I would push mybreast to refer you to another ps for a second opinion xxxx

Sorry about the trouble you've had Bambi Hug . Go and see your original surgeon and see what he says, but like SMB says, if you're really not happy for him to do a re-op then ask MyBreast for an alternative ...

hi hunny. I'd get booked in straight away and see what they say. Try not to panic - it may be nothing but then again its best to get it checked. I know how upsetting it is when you think something is wrong - I noticed my muscle distortion and db at about 2 weeks po too. In the end I just decided that it was one of those things and there was nothing I or my ps could have done to have prevented it. I was just one of the unlucky ones. MB were great and booked me in straight away for a revision. Lets hope it doesn't come to that with you. We're all here for you tho sweetie xxxxx Hug

awww sorry to hear your not happy hunny Hug i agree with the other girls, go back and see the ps who done your op and see what he says.
if you are still not happy and would rather see a different surgeon then you could ask for that.
it's never nice having to go for a re op but sometimes it's the only way hun.
i had to have a re op after my second b/a and i'm over ther moon with my boobs now.
good luck hunny

Hi sweetie, have pm'd you again since this morning.

I was under the impression that you could only get DB with unders but apparently it can happen with overs too.

Thought this link was quite good (its the same as the one in your pm hun) but thought I'd share it anyway.

Hello Bambi!!

Soo sorry you are feeling soo bad about your result!! I would certainly make an appointment to see surgeon a.s.a.p. at least if you speak with him and he examines you you will know were you stand.....as Sally said they dealt with hers rather promptly. Worrying alone without really knowing what is wrong, if anything will play havoc with your emotions! You have already had a rough journey!!

I am happy to give you some honest feedback on your pics. if you would like me to.

Thanks girls, can't see PS for another 3 weeks due to him on annual leave. I know this time is going to drag........... Now when I look in the mirror, I hate them....I just dont look right at the bottom where your crease is..My OH is going to come with me to the appointment. Does anyone know which was around it is..implant on top with your own tissue visible or other way?

Hi Bambi!!

Sorry you are still feeling low!!! It is good your O.H. is going with you. Why wait three weeks though? Your contract is with the company...not the surgeon...they should see you a.s.a.p. another opinion would be welcome for you from what you say. You could still see your own surgeon as planned, however, in the meantime I feel peace of mind is needed for you. I would insist on someone seeing you this week.

As for your question re: placement, not quite sure what you mean!! You have overs yes? Which is implant over the muscle, I am not sure how to post a link to explain and show you properly...but, I will try. Take Care Hug xx

Hi Bambi!!

Think I managed to post a link for you to veiw the different placement of implants. This is just a brochure from a partnership that the surgeon who carried out my b.a. is part of.

Hope it is of some help to you, I think you would find more detailed info if you do a search...I am not too good with the technical stuff Blush xx

Thanks Mia the link did explain it. I had overs but what I can see in the mirror is the implant sitting at the bottom with my own tissue on the top. It my own natural crease that is becoming visible...I'm going to call my PC today so I'll let you know what she says about me seeing a different surgeon.

Hi Bambi, so sorry to hear your so unhappy. I definately agree with Mia, I wouldn't wait for your surgeon to come back off of holiday, I would insist they book you in to see somebody else so you can at least start the ball rolling if you do need a reop. No way should you have to wait the best part of a month, NO WAY....

Let us know how you get on xx

It's a long wait Bambi, so good luck with phoning your pc today.

As for the placement, yes, it is the implant which is underneath your own tissue. The implant is "over" the muscle but under the tissue. So it is your old natural crease which you can see.

I've spoken to my PC who said she'll call around the different clinics for me today to see if she can get me in to see another PS this week, so at the moment I'm pleased that she's doing this. She said she'd get back to me in a couple of hours.... :)

I'm off to see Adrian Richards at their Northampton office tomorrow night so will let you know how I get on. I'm really pleased that my PC organised this for me, so at the moment I'm chuffed with how MYbreast are listening to my concerns.
