Dont know whats wrong with me at the moment i just love my boobies so much and am worried what is normal and what isnt, I was drying my incisions today, and kind of lifted my left boob up and think i felt the bottom of the implant, wasnt very nice and kind of freaked me out in a big way, does that mean somethings wrong or is that normal too??

Also my 1 week post op was last wed with the nurse, she advised me to take the steri strips off after a week being yesterday but they are still sitting perfectly covering my incisions, they arent peeling or anything Screwy, been showering everyday and making sure I dry them on a cool setting as soon as i get out. To honest I am a bit scared to seeing the incisions. Anyway my dad bought me a pack of steri strips but I was thinkiing if these ones are still fine and not peeling, do I need to change them yet?? Or would it be better to change them??

Sorry for all the questions just dont want anything to be wrong with my new Flash and want to look after them the best I can

aww hun i totally get where your coming from. I changed mine everyday after I'd had a shower cos when I went for my one week check up the nurse gave me a couple of packs of steri strips to use for the first week after my 1 week check (if that makes sense) lol.

Cant say I've felt the bottom of my implant, but I dont think it would be anything to worry about. I'm sure one of the other girls can advice on that better than I can though. xx

Hi hun, I'm a bit worried now, think I'm doing something wrong! :pale:

I've been taking off my steri strips every time I shower/shallow bath, then cool blow-drying the incisions when I get out. Then I put new steri strips on. I've been doing this every day since I saw my nurse on Mon - perhaps I should have just left the ones that she put on me!

Omg this is all so confusing. I'm also worrying about everything!

Aw Dani Hug xx

There is nothing whatsoever wrong with you!!!!

It is normal to be concerned and wanting to do everything right!!! feeling your implant I guess is daunting!! but I believe lots of girls do, you have overs and they need to settle into the pockets still..., can take some time.

The steri strips, personally I would remove daily to keep them dry and clean, as moisture can build up underneath. I wore micropore tape ( basically the same principle) on mine and changed daily after shower, after dabbing with vit.e. oil. Your incisions should be well closed up by now and it is just really to ensure they heal quicker, smoother, and bra does not rub on them. If surgeons/clinics/nurses would give clearer and written instructions many girls would be saved this worry.

You are doing good Dani and you Sam......dont be scared of them.....just care for them gently and yourselves. Give You xxxx

Just keep asking anything that is concerning...nothing is silly!!! we all have these crazy thoughts Screwy xx

Lovely post Mia and as always perfectly put. Hug

Feeling the implant is normal - its still really early days for both of you girls so they won't have settled just yet.

After my first post op check the nurse put steri strips on my inscisions and said to dry them with the hairdryer but to just take them off when they were ready. When I had my reop my dressings came off before I'd even gone for my first check and the incisions were absolutely fine. I was also told to massage with rosehip oil straight away but I know that a lot of girls are told nothing until 6 weeks so I'd go with your instinct on that one.

Hysterical aw!! sorry Bless!!! Please try not to worry!! It is better to laugh than cry...honest!! I recall thinking the same and looking and thinking far too much I ended up just laughing at myself as my healing was fine...just my thinking was :suspect: And I had very clear instructions and help just down the road, and at the end of the phone, e.mail if needed.

What I done was:

Shower with tape on

Dried myself with bath towel

Removed tape

Dabbed incisions dry with a clean tissue for each boob

Dabbed a tiny bit 100% pure organic vit.e. oil (very thick consistancy) on incisions (this helps healing and breaks down scar tissue.) Allowed to dry whilst I clensed face etc.

Then applied micropore tape (this helps soften and heal incisions and enables the oil to seep into tissue, and protects bra rubbing) Steri strips probably do the same.

Hey presto done!!!

You just do it automatically and dont think about it after a couple of days. I done this untill my 7 week check, then moved on to the silicone sheets, but I wil explain why later I think as it may confuse at peresent. Also, this was my P.S.'s instructions for me, it worked a treat!! I would just clarify with your own P.S. too what they advice.

Hope this helps Dani and Sam!!! Boobs eh!! Cheerleader xxxxxx

I sure am an ancient legend!!!!! Please do not make me put my age in print yet again!! Hysterical

The vit. e. oil I got from the health shop.

Jason's Pure Natural & Organic ( 45,000 i.u.) the highest strength I could source, there is weaker ones that cost less, but this was advice given. I think it was around £15/18.00 ? It is a 2fl 0z plastic bottle and I still have half a bottle left...tiny dab (tapping motion) only needed.

Pure Rosehip oil is also very good, and clinically proven also to heal scar tissue.

Good Luck!!! You smiling now???? Cheerleader Give You xxx

What lovely kind thoughts!! I do hope my children feel the same...I just love the three of them to bits..the spots and all!! they are brilliant and different in their own special ways....I am soo soo lucky!! But, yes I do think they think I have just a tad to many laughing sessions at times......my years in numbers is different to how I feel Cheerleader

P.S. Think I look not too bad either Hysterical

Soo glad you are feeling relieved and smiling too!!......I used to look in the mirror at my boobs...not quite believing they were mine ....to keep for ever and ever....still dont  I was/am just soo chuffed. I was scared to touch them!! P.S. said to treat them like 'real breasts'!!! Well if you know what that is I thought to myself.......just what do you do?? So laughing with joy was the only way to go for me......gosh my poor children if they knew Blush

Aw happy Days Flash xxxxxxxxx

I took my steri strips off on day 10 and they've stayed off. I am a great believer that wounds need fresh air to heal nicely so I didn't want to cover them with anything else. I think mia's advice says it all really - what a star Hug

i was told to take my steri strips off after 1 week and that was it, no more steri strips. After i shower, i make sure the area under each breast is dry by gently pressing my towel there. Not had any problems or infections. I did have removeable stitches (not dissolvable) so maybe that makes a difference?

Once mine came off I just left them off! They stayed on in the shower for a good few days after they were changed. I dried the incisions and steri strips at the same time with the hairdryer then once they fell off I dried them with a towel and applied rosehip oil. I bought some off ebay for about £5.00. Quite a big bottle too although how good the potency/quality is I don't know.

Its really confusing as they don't give enough aftercare advice imo especially scar management. Mia's advise sounds GREAT and should be printed as a fact sheet for all ba patients. :ghug:
