They think I'm mad
My mum asked me this morning when I was going into hospital (prob the most she's asked about the whole thing) and said that she thinks I'm mad
Also a colleague keeps telling other colleagues that I'm mad for having it done even though only a few weeks before I mentioned about having it done she would joke about and say "If I had the money, I'd have a boob job"
it's not the kinda support I'm after at the moment as I'm getting more nervous by the day and I'm finding it real hard to sleep. I don't think I'm mad ..., but then does a mad person ever do?

Re: They think I'm mad
Your Mum probably thinks your lovely as you are and your colleague sounds as if she's got a touch of the green eyed monster!
Don't worry about anyone else's take on it, your doing it for you!
In a few months time you will feel and look as if you've had them babies forever, and knocking 'em dead whenever your out!
Good luck for next week, I'm trying to keep busy at work (yeh really, I'm there now) or I'D be going mad with a mixture of excitement and nervousness!

Re: They think I'm mad
I do think it's jealousy as she's always said she'd love one. Oh well

Re: They think I'm mad
.X. Totally agree she is just jealous since she's said she's like one herself and now you're having one when she isn't. try not to let it bother you^. also your mum is probably just avoiding asking you much about it because maybe she feels you're perfect the way you are, my mum has been very supportive but at the same time she thought I was crazy for wanting to change myself because I'm still her 'little girl' your mum is probably the same and maybe is just worried about you going through a major op that she thinks you don't need so she's avoiding talking to you about it because maybe she is scared. I'm sure after you have had it done and she can stop worrying about the op itself then she will avoid the situation less and maybe talk to you more about it xxxxxxxxxx .x.

Re: They think I'm mad
Agree with all the above x they are just jealous at work hun x concentrate on preparing for your op and how great your boobs are gonna look, whoop whoop!! x
Mum's worry that's all, and you are still her baby xx I'm sure that once you have had the op and you are out the other side your Mum is going to relax and feel better about it all x I think your mum is probably just feeling a bit uncertain about it x Us Mum's would do anything to swop places with our kids you know when they are worried, stressed, upset, frightened, etc etc etc I bet those are the sorts of feelings your Mum is having right now and probably finding it difficult to put them to one side in order to support you xx which I'm sure that she does, she's just worried sweety that's all x

Yep deffo a case of the green eyed monster. As for your mum she's probably just worried about you. My mum found it really hard to get her head around as it just wouldn't be something her or her friends would have considered doing when she was younger or now. We're all here to support you babes every step of the way xxxxx

Re: They think I'm mad
As far as my colleague is concerned, it's not like I'm going to be getting them out. I work in a DIY shop which in the winter is freezing cold, so we are walking around with about 3 layers on, scarf, gloves. No one is going to notice them. I just think she thinks I will get more attention than she does

Re: They think I'm mad
I agree with the other girls Jem, my mum pretty much said I was crazy but I think she was only doing it because she was worried about me and couldn't understand why I was doing it. And it's quite clear if your colleague had already made comments about getting hers done she must be jealous. Try to ignore the negativity hun, and just concentrate on how great it's gonna be when you have your new boobies!xx

Re: They think I'm mad
Don't worry about your work mates - they'll forget all about soon enough and find something/someone else to go on about!
And as for mum, like the others say, she's just worried about you ...
You've chosen a good surgeon and have done a lot of research, try just to focus on yourself for the next couple of weeks. :)

I totally agree with kazzybazzy, dont worry about other people's opinions what you think is all that counts, and as for your mum, she is just worried about you and wants you to know she loves you as you are and that you dont have to do this, she's just giving you a way to change your mind, remember why you started on this path hun and all the reasons why you wanted this in the first place and you will be fine xx
