Re: boobie drips!!
hiya hunny, i think you are meaning drains? they are only used by some surgeons......i have had 3 b/a's and never had drains with any and all done with different surgeons.
they are used to drain off excess fluid and and to keep swelling to a minimum, also it would help to spot a heamatoma if this was to occur although it's very rare.
most girls say it feels very strange and possibly unconfortable when they are taken out but most say not very painful.

Re: boobie drips!!
I didn't have drains and couldn't put it any better than AK has. Dont worry though hun, you may not have them but if you do it wont hurt that much. Plus your on pain killers.
Re: boobie drips!!
Like AK says, not all surgeons use them. Mine didn't, but his colleague who works in the same hospital does. I think it really is just down to the individual surgeon's preference and whether he thinks you might get a haematoma. It's something you can ask in your consultation. They are supposed to feel odd and uncomfortable (and sometimes painful) when they're pulled out, but it's so quick that it's not worth worrying about.

I had drains and found it very uncomfortable when they were removed, it was more of a feeling that went through me, felt very very weird, but wasn't painful. xxx

Re: boobie drips!!
i think they use them for both unders and overs hunny, and they usually only stay in overnight, and to be totally honest i really don't know if they put them in the same incision bit i don't think they do.
good question though , you have me wondering about that one now lol.
someone will come along and tell you shortly as there is a few girls on here have had drains in.

Re: boobie drips!!
yeah my first and second b/a's were unders, the 350 took me from an a to a b...well i was a c but looked a b, you couldn't tell i had anything done when i had clothes on so i still needed chicken fillets and gel bras. then i had 525 which took me to a d but looked a c in clothes, i would have stayed that size if everything went well but i needed pocket revision as my lefty was almost under my armpit so i decided to change to overs and go up a size while i was at it.
it paid off as i totally love them now, they have went through some strange changes since having them done and at day 16 they looked very oddly shaped an not very nice, luckily they have settled reaaly well and i'm finally happy.

Re: boobie drips!!
I didnt have drains, it depends on the surgeon's preference, usually uplifts have drains most of the time. You could always ask your surgeon at the consult x
Re: boobie drips!!
Hey hun, I had overs with drains and no they are not in the incision site, they in a tiny little hole to the side, i guess it depends on your surgeon.
