Coping with people noticing post op
Hi Girls,
I was wondering how those of you have coped post op, especially those of you who did not tell friends, family and work colleagues that you were having a BA. I am having 340cc overs, currently 36B and thinking I'll end up 36D. I am having my op on the 1st August and I really don't know how I will deal and cope with work colleagues and parents. I work with all men and they can be mouthy. I am not ashamed of what I am doing but I don't want to have to explain to people but if I am not honest will it be confirming I have had it done....not sure how I am going to cope if and I think they will confront me....
Please help you girls have been so great.
Thanks
Em

Re: Coping with people noticing post op
A very good gel bra!!!
I went out with work the other day, haven't seen them in a while as on Maternity leave! I work with mainly men and one of them drunkly said that he thought my boobs were bigger! Luckly he was speaking to a friend of mine who knew and she just replied "yeah they are, we have just been talking about la senza gel bra's!" and that was the end of that!!
I'll have to wait until I'm back to work as I am sure it will come up again!!!! But my friend did say that as I walked in my body language made her wonder but she wouldn't have guessed! (I told her that night).

Re: Coping with people noticing post op
.x. i'm pretty open about mine so people close to me knew about it but most of them have actually said that in clothes, they wouldn't immediately assume if they didn't already know.
Also the new job I have is in an almost entirely male office (only 8 women out of over 65 people) and they are very VERY blokey and un-PC...i was worried because we do a lot of work socialising at the lake i.e. bikinis & swim stuff is a must, and so it's was unavoidable that they were all eventually going to see me in a bikini...I was worried about how they would all react and thought they would guess immediately but actually, one of the other girls, my flatmate who I'm quite close to, told me the other day that all the guys at work, after a month of seeing me in various bikinis and different tops/dresses are like "has she or hasn't she??" its apparently a major point of speculation because they are obviously very full and rounded but still pretty natural looking because they are unders and smallish implants...so as of yet none of them are actaully quite sure....they are confused about whether I just have the most astouding perfect natural boobs ever..or whether they are fake hehe. and also nobody has directly asked me...The fact that nobody here ever saw me before the op means they don't really know although some suspect...
If you are going up two sizes then people you already work with who know what you look like before will maybe pick up on it because if you suddenly start wearing "an amazing gel bra" permenantly, everday etc they will maybe clock on but at the end of the day to be honest, I doubt anyone will say anything out it directly to you. Boys will be boys and they may well discuss it and have a giggle between themselves speculating about it but some of the guys here are actually FILTHY with no tact at all and have never heard of the word subtle, and even they havn't dared to actually directly comment...i wouldn't worry too much. :-)

Re: Coping with people noticing post op
I was thinking the exact same thing to myself the other night...friends I am not that bothered about, think they will be cool, however work people and my non immediate family im slightly worried about.
I guess tell the men you've treated yourself to a top of range gel bra (men are not that clever when it comes to these things so will just accept that explanation) and confide in the ladies?..i always find ladies much easier to confide in...let me know how it goes, and good luck!
At the end of the day this is for you so who cares what anyone else thinks - as long as you are happy thats all that matters. My guess is that once BA done you are going to be grinning from ear to ear like a cheshire cat!!!!

Let me know how it goes. I'm a lil concerned about it too. Don't want ppl taking the mickey.
Your the same size as me as well and only having 10cc less than me. Would be nice to see what size you end up x

Re: Coping with people noticing post op
I just started padding out my bra more as my op came closer so that hopefully when I go back to work people will not see the change so much. Also, when you go back to work make sure you don't start wearing low cut tops or change drastically the way you dress as that will be more obvious. I was worried before I got my BA about how drastic the change will be but honestly under my clothes they don't look too much bigger than they did when I was padding my bra out. And I went from an A to roughly a DD cup. I'm back at work on Monday though so this is all speculation could be completely different when I get there! If people do start to gossip just try to rise above it, you will be yesterdays news soon enough xx

Re: Coping with people noticing post op
I work in a large place and only told 3 women. There are only 7 women compared to over 30 men. I was a 34b and am now 34e and can honestly say the women i didn't tell have not noticed, and certainly none of the men have looked twice. There are ways of wearing clothes where by you don't have to show them off. If i was to sit at work in a tight top, then of course they would be obvious, but until i feel confident to do that, then they can remain my litte confidence secret.

Re: Coping with people noticing post op
I never told anyone at work, and nobody has noticed or said anything. To be honest i don't think people really look that much, we are all just a bit paranoid. My mom doesn't know either and she has not noticed any difference. Just be sensible in what you wear and buy some bras that don't highlight your new boobs.

Re: Coping with people noticing post op
I've not had many people ask but I have been very honest and open about it. I work in an office of around 200+ and when people have asked I just give them a huge grin and say 'yeah and I'm so glad I did'. I don't care what they think as I did it for me but noone has been nasty about it. I got a lot of compliments and questions but no nasty remarks. The lads did the 'wehey jen has big boobs' for a day or two then just got on with life. Its no big deal now, I just occassionally get asked about the op by people considering having it done. I'm known as the boobie guru in my office lol.

Re: Coping with people noticing post op
I started wearing the Atlantis gel bras, which made me look a good size. I have keep wearing my sports bra under my work clothes which makes them look smaller and so far no one seems to have noticed. I even went on holiday with my sister for a few days last month and she did not notice either. Obviously it does depend on what you wear and the type of bra as some will make them looker bigger than others!! xxx

Re: Coping with people noticing post op
Hi,
I've gone up 4 cup sizes from a B to an F cup and no-one at work has really noticed!
Most people probably won't have the nerve to ask and they will probably think to themselves "hmmm did she have big boobs before?"
Although, my boobs have got bigger over the last couple of weeks and one bloke on my team asked my boss (who knows) if I was pregnant as my boobs are huge and a girl told me my boobs were bigger yesterday! I laughed it off and said I had a good gel bra on.
I've noticed people looking but don't think they've got the guts to say anything!
I'm not ashamed of it but I also work in a male orientated place and there are also lots of gossips. I wouldn't want everyone talking about me.
I just make sure that I don't wear anything too revealing to work.
