How was your surgery? Thought about you today. I had my scars cleaned up today and my surgeon has done a good job, also my pain is getting less and I'm starting to feel good. I know you'll feel rubbish at the moment Hun but after the worst bit week 1 you'll start to feel normal again trust me xxx

Re: My Boobies Have Arrived!!!
Surgery went well as far as I know, but have got a drain in the right side which is coming out in a few minutes, expecting that to hurt! Other than that, the pain isn't that bad at the moment but I'm expecting that to change!
Glad you're happy with yours!

Re: My Boobies Have Arrived!!!
My surgeon doesn't routinely use drains and had told me he wasn't planning to, but my right boob was a little bit naughty, so to be safe, he put one in. Bloody hurt when it came out though!
I have had quick peeks when the surgeon came to check them (hubby was there for one check, and he says the surgeon did a great job!), and when the nurse was removing the drain and getting the dressing onto the exit wound. From what I could see, they looked pretty good already, even though my 11 year old told me she didn't know why we'd paid all that money as they didn't look that big! They are squashed in pretty tightly in my Macom bra though, so at the moment, unless anyone was looking at the signs of pain on my face, they would probably just think I was wearing a padded bra.
Have you still got any dressings on? I've got to have mine changed on Friday.
Can't wait for my puppies to be able to bound around freely!

Re: My Boobies Have Arrived!!!
Hello hun
I've got an 11yrs old too as well as a 4yrs old, so i know what 11yr olds are like, my daughter asked me why i had spent that amount of money to. If only they would understand ha..
I've heard that the drains hurt when they come out, Today is my first day without pain killers which is great and i have got no pain from boobies whatsoever, the only pain i have is from the butterfly (cannulla) That they put in my hand once they removed it after surgery its only now beginning to give me trouble so have got the doctors later to check it as my vein seems a bit raised. Hopefully its nothing though.
I had my dressings changed last monday and the scar looks great, my surgeon is good for doing neat surgery so the doctor took a pic and they looked neat and great, theyve removed the sterile strips and re-dressed it. Only 3 more weeks and i can go swimming and then 5 weeks until this bra comes off.
Hows your recovery? what meds have they given you? how do you feel in general? xx

Re: My Boobies Have Arrived!!!
I'm not in masses of pain at the moment, more suffering from tightness and discomfort. Feels like I've done a few hundred press-ups.
I was sent out with paracetamol and ibuprofen, thought I was meant to be getting codeine, so bought some co-codamol on the way home.
I'm feeling pretty itchy under my bra, but am too scared to have a good scratch! Generally, I'm not feeling too bad most of the time, albeit fairly tired!

Re: My Boobies Have Arrived!!!
Hello Hun
This reminds me of me at the early stages the tightness reminds me of a Braxton hicks but on my chest and the tightness is crazy at times. It does go away I promise you. Today I don't feel the tightness at all which is good and the swelling has gone down so it does get easier.
I thought they would of given you codene as well.
I know what you mean about the itchy feeling annoying isn't it. How are you finding sleeping? Xxxx

Re: My Boobies Have Arrived!!!
Both me and hubby thought that my surgeon said I'd be given codeine as he said I'd be given some lactulose to take home too (to help with constipation from the codeine), but was given neither of these!
Last night was first night at home as first night after the op I stayed in hospital. I slept fairly well really - probably went to sleep at around 10.30, then didn't wake until 5am, then back off again until about 8.15am. That was probably due to complete exhaustion as didn't really sleep in hospital...I could hear the A14 road noise, someone in another room snoring, another farting and the birds decided to start singing around midnight and just kept on singing (thought I was going mad, but nurses confirmed my hearing for me!)! xxx

Re: My Boobies Have Arrived!!!
Dressings were removed today and have now got tape over the scars which I have to keep on for 6 weeks, changing it once a week - only more often if it becomes dirty or starts to peel off. Any more frequent changes apparently stop the scars from healing as nicely. Hubby has been great, as have the kids (it's helped that he's paying them a fiver each per day to do chores that help out so that I don't have to do anything - youngest was hoping I'd be recovering for months so that she could buy herself an iphone!).
I'm finding sleeping on my back a real pain though, but definitely better without listening to birds at stupid o'clock, snoring or farting!! xxx

Re: My Boobies Have Arrived!!!
Merry Christmas Hun, hope you've had a good one and your boobies not been too sore. Mine are great but you always get boob greedy and wish they were bigger ha ha... but I'm so happy with what I've got. How were your scars? I checked mine under the dressings and there healing well.
That's funny about paying your kids what a great idea though as means they can help.. iPhone eh looks like you'll have to be recovering longer for them to get an iPhone ha ha.. I'm used to sleeping on the back now takes a week or 2 to get used to I thought I would find this the hardest as I'm a side sleeper x x x

Re: My Boobies Have Arrived!!!
Merry Christmas to you too, I've had a lovely day, we've been to my mum's for lunch and now back home in front of the fire. Boobs aren't too sore in themselves - more just tight and itchy, presumably where the skin is having to stretch, also itchy on the scars. Nips are super-sensitive though, which is a bit of a bugger! The scars looked good considering they were uncovered less than four days after the op, I was expecting to see stitches but was gobsmacked when there was just two perfectly neat lines, already fusing together nicely! Back sleeping is really doing my head in as I'm also a side sleeper. I know what you mean about getting boob envy - I thought mine would be massive, but although they're large compared with what I used to have, they are by no means huge by normal standards! Don't think he could've possibly managed to fit in anything bigger anyway - I'm stretched to the max! xxx
