Still quite hard
Hi Ladies
I'm nearly 5 months post op now and I thought they have finished softening but they are still a little hard. Is this normal? I no they change up to a year but is that hardness ? Sorry girls another question that you probably have all heard. Xx

Re: Still quite hard
I don't think they will ever be as soft as normal breast tissue. Do you know what density of implants you had? Do you have textured implants? I know massage helps soften smooth implants as its helped with mine no end but I guess if you have textured you can't massage!
Sorry - I'm not much help but its hard to know what to compare too without popping over and having a grope - haha!! xx

Theyre never going to be as soft as normal breasts. You've got a fluid in a fixed space, so theres only so much space for it to go. That being said, it can still take a while yet. Mine were 6+ months before they were nice and squishy. Give it more time

Re: Still quite hard
Yes if they are smooth definitely massage them - it helps prevent capsular contracture and keeps the pocket open and softens them up. When I say massage its mainly just displacement of the implants - so up, down, out and in. You can google videos of how to massage. Check they are def smooth and if they are go for it - I bet they'll soften up loads within a couple of weeks. I did loads at first - 2-3 sessions of 20min massage but now I just do 5mins morning and 5mins evening xx

Re: Still quite hard
Always check with your surgeon before starting massage. They may not want you to do it, and it can affect your aftercare
