Pain in shoulder and neck since my BA
Hello ladies
I just wondered if anyone else suffered with a pain in the shoulder and neck ? Since I had my BA I've had a ache in my neck and shoulder. For the 1st week I couldn't stand up straight as the pain was so severe, I was like hunchback of Nostradamus!!!!! Xx

Re: Pain in shoulder and neck since my BA
Yep, me Hun.... Started on day 1 with horrible pain in shoulder blades... Feels like they are being pushed outwards almost. I find that doing exercises to try and strengthen my shoulder blades helps, and trying to stay active. When I've been sat at my desk all day at work it's the worst. I think it's purely because I now hold myself differently and my muscles are having to work harder to support my new boobs. I hope eventually it will ease (fingers crossed). You are still very early post op so hopefully yours will subside quicker, just make sure your wearing a bra the fits properly and gives you good support as that will def help, and try to keep mobile, I'm sure the more active of a person you are the better your recovery is, I think that's why I've taken so long to heal as I sat on my butt 8hours a day 5 days a week lol. Good luck, and happy healing.... Looking fab in your AVI xxx

Its your body adjusting. There's a lot more weight on your front now, and your body, especially your back, now almost has to re learn how to hold you. Try and make sure you stand as straight as you can for now. And don't be tempted by a massage or ostekpath yet. Any worth their salt will not see you til 6month. The pressure they use ( not to scare you here) can literally force it back out the incision! It's the inside that needs to heal more. My osteo insisted on a wound check before he would treat my back, and actually turned me away. Or he was trying to cop a feel...!

Muddypaws thank you I thought maybe something was wrong, I'm quite active as I work on a farm so always doing something. I suppose my body has been the same for so many years and now I have boobs its a bit of weight so I will stand different. I seem like I stand up straighter.
Charlii I was going to book a massage / osteopath but I will give that a miss. I don't want them falling out!!!!My hubby has been giving me a little massage on my neck which helps sometimes but I think I need more. Will just wait. Xxxx
