Ladies with Spire - do you get any aftercare??
Hello me again!
Currently looking into a consultation with my 2nd choice of surgeon again - Douglas McGeorge. But when looking into Spire, I can't seem to find any aftercare info and I know some ladies have had this problem on here too. Is this really important?
Thanks xx

Hi [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I am going with Spire in Leeds. I had my second consult last Thursday and I asked that question as I believed it was just 2 follow up appointments but my ps said I can go see him as often as I want with any worries or concerns. I suppose everywhere will be different but just be sure to ask. xx

I was considering going with Spire but I don't think its Spire that provide aftercare in those circumstances - its the individual surgeon. The ones I saw at Spire were lovely and would have provided good aftercare. Its odd as going with Spire (my surgeon also performs ops there) would have cost me £1000 extra, however with Nuffield, not only is a cheaper but they also give you the 'Nuffield Promise' which covers all aftercare / follow ups. It would still come through my private surgeon first and foremost though. xx

I had brilliant aftercare with spire but I agree it's very hard to work out what exactly the policy is, there seems to be a spire one and then your private surgeons. To be honest I was blasé about it, it's only when I had to use it I realised how incredibly important it is

I'm going with Douglas McGeorge!!! He is absolutely amazing, I hope you will like him as much as I did, he was so kind and answered questions with great detail, don't be scared to ask him any questions, or show pictures etc. He really was so lovely in my first consultation.

Re: Ladies with Spire - do you get any aftercare??
Its tricky, because the Spire is just the venue essentially, and the surgeon is renting space there. You do get aftercare, but I've heard a lot of girls find it tricky to work out exactly what that is. As above, I think you get one guarantee with the hospital in tandem with what your surgeon provides. So if you get unlimited post op apps, or replacement for medical reasons within 2yrs, they have to provide the premises and equipment to make that happen. Does that make sense? Better to ask the surgeons secretary for a full list in writing.

Thanks ladies that makes lots of sense, and after meeting McGeorge he explained that he will see you as many times post op as you like if needed - he saw a lady today after 10 years of her having implants with him!
He was fantastic... I can't believe how relieved I feel after meeting him. I have now made my mind up to change surgeons and to go with McGeorge.. he completely understands what I want, looked at my wish pictures and I saw some of his work and he is fantastic. He also thinks I would definitely need anatomicals as I have almost no breast tissue at the top of my chest and he said that the rounds would stick out at the top of my chest because its so small. YES!! I feel like my voice has been heard :)
Dr Alvi is an extremely skilled and experienced surgeon and I admire his work, but for what I want.. petite and natural, I think McGeorge can make that happen. Just have to book a date now :)
Thanks ladies feeling on top of the world tonight! xxxxx

Thanks girlies!!! Yes it was the best decision to just stop, take a breather and think. I completely understand when people say 'you will just know if the surgeon gets you' as I didn't have that feeling before now.
I still have to wait until end of Jan/feb unfortunately as I just want boobies now but I can't get any time off work until then. Boo! I'm sure it will come around soon enough though :)
He suggested a shaped, wide base, moderate profile, cohesive gel, 270cc implant. And told me not to think about volumes too much as I was getting hung up about it, as to me that sounds a lot when I was originally thinking 225 was perfect! He says that the implant he has recommended should slightly lift my nipples, and pull them more central instead of to the sides and as I have a large gap between boobies the wide base will fill it nicely with a subtle cleavage. SOUNDS GOOD TO ME :)
