Re: booked in with the new birkdale clinic
Yay for booking!
I've not heard of the New Birkdale Clinic before, their BA offer is very reasonable. You'll find some surgeons you just "click" with and that's so important. If you can't find much about them online, did you like their manner interactive with you and before/after pics? Did you see more than one surgeon at that clinic? Sometime "no news is good news" with regards to complaints/complications etc!

Re: booked in with the new birkdale clinic
Hi Chrystal, welcome to the forum!
Why not pop over to the Newbies section to introduce yourself to all of us. Then you can pop your date in the calendar so we can wish you well on the big day! Also, check out the October buddies for more girls going through it with you.
Congrats on booking! I don't know about the clinic, but someone will be along soon, or you can look in the search bar for any previous posts.

Re: booked in with the new birkdale clinic
You've paid without meeting your surgeon? That's brave (and a bit unusual of the clinic to do that)! Hopefully you like him and will be smooth sailing! Most people go for consultations with 2 or more surgeons unless they know people who've had great experiences with a specific surgeon.
Hopefully you can pick up enough info here on the forum to learn about implant types, overs/unders, sizing and approximate aftercare to go in the consultation fully educated. It's a lifelong commitment so worth spending time reading about!

Re: booked in with the new birkdale clinic
Don't panic - it's naughty of the clinic to pressurise you into paying like that - you could always call up on Monday and see if you can at least meet more than one surgeon at their clinic? I know that Transform will do that sort of thing. It's not unreasonable when you're going to be spending a fair amount of money with them.
There's lots of useful info in the forum in terms of what to ask your surgeon when you do meet - if you look at the top right side of the page where it says "I'm new, where do I begin?" it will take you to a sub-forum with LOTS of useful info of what to look out for - hopefully reading some of that will put your mind at ease a bit!

Hi Chrystal, hope everything is still going well.
Was anyone allowed to wait with you at Birkdale?, or did you have to phone them when you were ready to be picked up?
xx
