I was wondering how ladies who had surgery 6-8 weeks ago are feeling now?
I have my surgery booked for Thursday this week.
I have a festival to go to 6 weeks and a holiday in the sun 8 weeks after my op.
I'm hoping I'll be feeling ok to have a great time at both of them.
I hope you're all recovering well and can give me some good news?
I know everyone recovers at a different rate but anyone willing to share how they're feeling might give me an idea of what to expect. Thanks xx

I think it's so hard to judge as everyone heals and reacts to the surgery so differently. I'm 3 weeks post op this Thursday and going to Take That (standing) this Tuesday. I feel totally fine and now just have sunburn feeling below my nipples.
I remember before I booked the surgery I asked if the post surgery girls on here thought it would be viable and I think everyone said no. I had already bought the tickets though so thought I would play it by ear and I'll be up dancing, singing and screaming with the best of them.
But that's just been my experience. I know you need to be careful in the sun post BA for 12 months from what I've read on here so you'll need to cover your chest when you're abroad.
I guess festival wise it depends on whether you're going to be in the thick of it all. I will be on Tuesday but I feel well enough to do that. If you've already got your tickets you may just be as well seeing how you feel as you would be able to sell them if you're not up to it, or take it easy when you're there.
I'm maybe not the best person to advise though as my recovery has been really good so far xx

I'm now 12 weeks post op, so hopefully I'll be able to give you some guidance.
6 weeks post op is when the surgeon would normally ok you for exercise, a festival (from my experience) isn't normally jumping around the whole time! So I think at 6 weeks, I wouldn't be going right to the front and getting squashed, but I think if you feel you will be dancing ect. Take a sports bra with you and perhaps where that instead of a Macon/soft cup to make sure they are well supported.

In regards to the holidays. I'm going away in 2 weeks and even I will have to be factor 30 and wearing a t shirt, the skin is been stretched so is VERY sensitive to the sun.
The luggage etc should be ok (I went on a business trip to Barcelona at 6 weeks for 3 days) and luggage was so issue. It's more the skin sensitivity.. I'm also a red head so I will be making sure I am well covered up.

Hope that helps. What a lovely summer you have ahead of you :) xx

Thanks, at the festival I'm definitely not the mosh pit type so won't be getting battered form all sides. I'm small so tend to stand at the back, anywhere closer and I can't see a thing although the atmospheres better in the thick of it but think Ill take your advice and stay back.
Makes sense about the sensitive skin. I usually stay under a brolly anyway, is it advised to cover up as well as using sun block? X

Festival is probably not the best of ideas at only 6 weeks post op. And as for your holiday, it won't be too much of a holiday as you won't be able to go in the pool, sea or sunbathe and chest area has to be completely covered.

Oh no that sounds depressing. The festival ticket has been booked since last year, same with the holiday. I didn't realise it would be so long before I could go in water. I don't sunbathe anyway, more like sitting in the shade. I'll just have to dip my feet in then straight back under the brolly. As for the festival, I'll see how I feel at the time. Xx
